Today, I went to my regular pharmacist of three months, and since I've always seen him on a crutch, I asked him how his leg was. His response, "Still missing". FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, while working in my pharmacy, a patient told me that he sometimes wants to jump the counter and skin me alive. He has no more refills, and his doctor is out of town for the week. FML
Today, I went to the pharmacy to buy the Plan B pill. The pharmacist recognized me and said, "Really? Again?" FML
Today, my anatomy teacher was putting together a skeleton model for class. He had misplaced the leg bone, so I thoughtfully asked, "What's the matter, lose a leg?" Unfortunately, there's nothing thoughtful about asking that question to a guy with an amputated leg. FML
Legged it
Today, I woke up after a night of drinking to find that while I was passed out someone stole my prosthetic leg. FML
Back to square one
Today, I finally got the cast off my leg after being unable to walk for 6 weeks, watching daytime TV or playing my husband's Xbox all day. The second the plaster came off, I tried to stand up, tripped over the doctor's foot and broke the apparently still not fully healed leg again in the same spot. FML
Today, working as a nurse, I saw a patient in for follow-up after a partial leg amputation. I checked her blood pressure and gave her the reading, which prompted her husband to ask what it meant. She replied, "I'm alive." Before I could stop myself, "And kicking" spilled out of my mouth. FML
Today, two days after leaving hospital with a broken left leg, I tripped and fell heavily on the floor. My dad quickly asked if I'd broken my other leg. When I reassured him that I hadn't, he disappointedly muttered that it would've been a hilarious story to tell his friends at work. FML
Today, our company did a photo-session for the website. The photographer was limping, and I immediately asked what's wrong with him. Then I noticed he was on a prosthetic. FML
Stranded
Today, I finally had a chance to get outside after receiving shrapnel to my leg. My crutches had not yet arrived so I didn't want to risk it, but my buddies said they had my back. We went to the seaside and I sat down as they say they'd be right back. It started to rain and everyone forgot me. I can stand, but not walk. FML
Best foot forward
Today, it’s been 4 months since I haven't been able to walk properly, two months I’ve been waiting for a doctor’s appointment, and one day since I found out that appointment never actually got made by the online booking system. But hey, who needs a left foot? FML

He is behind a counter first of all, and second he could have had a prosthetic and been wearing pants.

There isn't much that you could have done in this situation. Hope he understood that it was a genuine mistake!):

Its kinda obvious if you just stare at his leg so do it without getting noticed

Prosthetic legs aren't exactly obvious under pants and behind a counter.. It's rude to stare by the way.

Sounds like he had a good attitude about your misunderstanding if he made a sarcastic comment like that.

House would've been sarcastic and no one would accuse him of having a good attitude. Still, he may have been jocular but even if he wasn't, he probably realised no offense was meant. A simple apology would clear this right up. Don't dwell on it, OP. Honest mistake given the situation.

She just asked how he was. Didn't bother to find out what the issue was. I'm sure if she knew she wouldn't ask that question

LMAO. Could have happened to anyone. I'm glad it happened to you and not me.

Moderators! This FML should say "... asked him how *his leg was."

Three whole months? He's practically family! You should have asked him if the other one was lonely. You already made an ass of yourself, so you might as well go whole hog (unless you're allergic to bacon.)

Not very intuitive now, was it?!
