Today, I was talking with my mother and expressed my slight disappointment at how many of my friends are getting into relationships, whereas I'm still single. My mother decided to encourage me by saying "Don't worry, sweetie. There are boys out there who don't go for looks. You'll be fine". FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my sister was dumped by her boyfriend. As my mother was comforting her, I overheard her say "Honey, it's okay, you're the pretty one. Think of those worse off than you. Think of your sister, she might never get a boyfriend." FML
Today, after coming home from hanging out with a few friends, my mom told me that I shouldn't hang out with them any more. Why? Because "they are way hotter than I am and I'll never get a boyfriend if I'm always the ugly one in my group." FML
Pants on fire
Today, I texted a cute picture of my boyfriend and me to my mom, who lives very far away. She replied saying that my Photoshop skills are great, but that I don't need to go so far to pretend that anyone would date me, and that there's no shame in being single at 25. FML
Today, my mum asked when she's getting grandkids. I had to tell her that, at 21 years-old, I hadn't even managed to get a boyfriend yet. FML
Under pressure
Today, my mom asked me out of the blue if I was ever going to consider getting married. It wasn't until after the conversation ended that I remembered my siblings are all either single like I am, or incapable of having children. I am my mother's last hope of becoming a grandma, and she reminds me all the time. FML
Uh oh
Today, after having a long talk with my mother about LGBT rights, she told me that she was totally open. I felt completely relieved, being gay myself. Seconds later, she said, "But not for you. I want you to find me a nice girl that can give me lots of grandkids." FML
Tough Love
Today, during a conversation with my in-laws, I opened up about my insecurities concerning my looks. My mother-in-law responded, "But you're not beautiful." She then repeated it. FML
Today, feeling very self-conscious about my looks, I told my mom I felt ugly and wished I could be as beautiful as her. She only said, "Yeah, I'm pretty, I wonder what happened to you." FML
Truth bomb
Today, I was sitting at home, venting to my parents about how I never get asked out by any of the guys at school. My Dad's words of wisdom were, "Don't worry, looks don't matter so much in college. Once they've had a few beers in them, they'll date anything." FML
Controlling
Today, my mom was helping me plan for going to college. After 30 minutes of me getting more upset, and her getting more frustrated, she directed me to Tinder, a wedding venue website, and the local address for Planned Parenthood. Her actual words were, "There's no shame in being a stay at home dad these days." FML

And that's when guy should've asserted in something like, "I guess this is the price I have to pay for getting my looks from you."

#48 your an ass. It's not proper for women to ask out men. If they do it just means your greedy. But I F you've done this and are in a relationship, well okay. But don't do it again. It's not edicate.

Wow, #72, you're a retard. It's perfectly fine ETIQUETTE to ask out a male if you're a female. We're not in the fifties anymore. Good lord.

#11 and #72 deserve to never have boyfriends really, waht the ****? It's not like if you ask a guy out he's going to say "no" because "girls aren't supposed to ask out guys" and if he does say that he's a fucktard that you don't need to waste your time with anyway. as laurisshnazzy said, this isn't the freaking 50's, there is nothing wrong with girls asking out guys. If you really want a BF that badly go do something about it.

she might not be ugly but she might be too picky and carries herself in a manor that most guys don't like. if so then YDI

oh noooo... I'm sure you're very pretty, you just haven't met the right guy yet. I went through three and a half years of high school without ever having a boy ask me out, even with people telling me how pretty I was (or totally bashing me) but then I met my first boyfriend in one of my classes in twelfth grade and he asked me out about two months later :) I totally wasn't expecting it.

No one deserves it for being ugly. It's not like we can control how we look when we were born.

Shes definately right, guys dont go for looks all the time, they go for ******... mostly. If you have one of those, you still have a chance!

My thought exactly. Unless you are in the really unfortunate 1% of the population, there's nothing taking eating right, exercising, good taste in clothes and quality (not necessarily expensive) makeup can't fix. Throw a good personality in, and guys will be after you like flies after honey.

hahaha that sounds an awful lot like a comment i made on another "today, someone called me ugly. fml" kind of thing. but it is too true.

there are no ugly women, just women who aren't made up right!

"Slight disappointment?" Until you're humble enough to admit that you're simply lonely, you won't get a guy for your personality either.

hahaha, exactly!
