Today, I was complaining to my mom about how my sister looked like a barbie doll next to me. I was saying how she was so tan and her hair looked awesome next to mine. She paused for a while and then said "Well you're pretty on the inside." FML

Today, feeling very self-conscious about my looks, I told my mom I felt ugly and wished I could be as beautiful as her. She only said, "Yeah, I'm pretty, I wonder what happened to you." FML
Today, my mom took a picture of me. All she could say about the picture was, "At least your sister is pretty." FML
Today, I was on the phone with my little sister as she explained that all these guys like her now that she's so skinny and beautiful. My mom must have overheard me tell my sister that at least I was a cuter child, because my mom laughed and said, "Yeah right, we had to buy you fat kid diapers." FML
Today, during a conversation with my in-laws, I opened up about my insecurities concerning my looks. My mother-in-law responded, "But you're not beautiful." She then repeated it. FML
Today, I was having a romantic conversation with my boyfriend under the stars. He said, "You know how there are people who are beautiful on the inside and people who are beautiful on the outside? Yeah, well you're one of those 'inside' people." FML
Today, I was having lunch with my sister and my mother. While my mom was busy ordering food, my sister said to me, "Look at this!" then contorted her face so that she had a double chin. My mother looked over and said to her, "Stop making fun of your sister!" FML
Today, my grandma told me that I'm starting to look like my sister. I jokingly replied, "Uh-oh I'm in trouble then." She gave me a very disapproving look and said, "You should be happy. She's beautiful, unlike you." FML
Today, my toddler gave me a compliment. She said, "Mommy, you’re so pretty... when the lights are off." FML
Today, I was complaining to my sister about how jealous I was of her looks. Her response was "Sometimes it's okay to be the ugly sister. Like, you have less of a chance of getting raped." FML
Today, I asked my mom if I was ugly. She said, "Ask your girlfriend." I said I didn't have one. She said "Exactly." FML

a similar thing happened to my mother when she was a kid. She was like, Mom, am I pretty? And my grandmother said, "...You're nice." I rofled when i heard the story. But hey. Being pretty on the inside is good.

I thought for a second it might be bitchy of me to post saying that YDI for being so whiny, thinking of your sister as the cause of your unhappiness and reason for your lack of self confidence, and also for putting your mother in such a position. Not to beat a dead horse, because I'm sure that you've been reprimanded for fishing for compliments before this post. But really no one likes a compliment *****. I would, however like to offer you a little shinning ray of hope. I have two sisters, for the first 17 years of my life they were always more beautiful and thinner than I was. Then I learnt how to put on make up and dress properly and now I'm just as good looking as they are. You're already beautiful on the inside apparently which really is more important, no matter how cliche it is :)

well, im an unidentical twin but people always compare me and my sister, people say im the fat one, she is like a bean pole with a bmi of 18 and shes 5"8 im curvy with big boobs and a bmi of 22 , people assume im fat and unhealthy because im curvy and related to a beanpole wehn rly im perfectly healthy
