Today, I walked up sixteen flights of stairs to my room to avoid the lift lines. When I was almost at the top, the fire alarm sounded. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my building's elevators were temporarily out of service. I climbed up 17 flights of stairs only to realize I left my keys downstairs. After the painful climb back up, the elevator lights came on. FML
Today, we had a fire drill in my dorm, and I live on the 7th floor of my building. They shut the elevators down and I had to walk down 14 flights of steps. I shattered my kneecap last week. They turned the alarm off when I got to the first floor. FML
Today, the workplace evacuation bell sounded. Out of panic after the recent earthquake, I ran down 21 flights of stairs, only to find out it was a false alarm. My legs are on fire, and I can barely walk. FML
Awkward
Today, after a fire alarm went off, everyone was going back into the building. I had never gone up the stairs before because I live on the 9th floor. As everybody was going back inside, I followed some guys right into their suite on the 1st floor, thinking it was the way to the stairs. FML
Run run run
Today, I went for a run in a new pair of shoes that left me with huge blisters. As I finished cleaning them up so they could heal, I limped to my bed to take a nap. I was woken by the fire alarm. My building was having a drill and we couldn't use the elevators. I live on the 9th floor. FML
Today, despite being claustrophobic and avoiding lifts at all costs, I had to use the lift at work to carry boxes of paper to the 3rd floor. It broke down. FML
Today, the elevator in my apartment building broke down. I live on the 30th floor and am still climbing the stairs. FML
Today, as I entered a stairwell, the fire alarm went off, triggering the automatic fire doors to close. The one I was walking through ran over my foot, ripping my toenail, and then smacked me in the face. FML
Today, I worked up my courage and took an elevator for the first time in my life. Unfortunately, it was also my first time getting trapped for several hours in an elevator. FML
Today, I tripped while rushing to my classes. In a desperate attempt to regain my balance, I grabbed the nearest thing to me. A fire alarm. FML

At least OP is listening to their doctor after that embarassing visit! Good for you, OP

Better than writing an FML about how you got stuck in a burning building.

Elevators are like sex - you can wait forever for it to get up, and the longer you wait for it, the more frustrated you get.

you must have pretty poor health if you can't walk up that many stairs...

Don't be a weakling, its good exercise! Be glad you were not in the elevator your pansy ass would've had a panic attack and had to be taken to the hospital... All because of a little fear. Now go the gym and stop whining, jeez.

What the **** are you talking about? OP didn't say anything about fear. In fact, he said he walked up 16 flights of stairs. Learn to read, you illiterate twit, though I have a feeling that you'd still be an asshole.

Well the lift lines are only going to get longer once the alarms are off. Just take a breather before another long climb!

You don't use or wait for an elevator during a fire alarm... unless you have a death wish?
eericcartman 5
Well, I said once the alarms are off. Not sure about you, but I've always taken the elevators to go home after the alarm goes off!

Running DOWN the stairs shouldn't take much time. Even if that's 16 floors.

Guessing you took the lift back down after all that?

people don;t call them lifts in Massachusetts
DocBastard 40
Is that so? You've asked every single person who lives there? Even the people who, oh I don't know, moved there from some other English-speaking country?
