Today, I received a "diamond ring" in Mafia Wars (a facebook app) from my boyfriend of 3 years. Along with the ring came a message. It read, "Will you marry me?" He was serious. FML

Today, I got a card from the jewelry store thanking me for purchasing an engagement ring a year ago and wishing me and my fiancée a long and everlasting marriage. Too bad my fiancée took off with the pizza delivery boy 6 months ago. FML
Today, I was at my boyfriend's house with his family. A kitten walked over to me with an engagement ring tied to its collar, along with a note that said "Marry Me?" I got super excited, only to find out that it was for his brother's girlfriend of 10 months, not me. We've been together 4 years. FML
Today, my boyfriend asked me to marry him by handing me a ring and telling me, "Okay we're engaged now." I should have seen it coming when we started dating, I went to his house one night and as I was leaving he said, "Okay you're my girlfriend now." FML

Isn't that a good thing? I mean, yeah it's not an expensive restaurant and real ring ... but I think it's sweet and almost romantic. :)

Don't post a FML because you are sad you didn't get some multi-thousand dollar ring. He could've given you nothing, like some people on here get. lol

#12, I don't think that people should get an engagement ring at all. Why should he have to buy 2 rings when u onlyi have to get one for the wedding??? What is the point if an engagement ring??? And also we are in pretty hard times here. Hve u ever heard of a little something caleed "global ressecion"??? A guy should not have to pay thousands of dollars when he really just wants to show u that hes ready for the commitment??? OP: look in ur heart. It sounds cheesy I know, but if you feel like he's the one that u want to spend the rest of ur life with, then why should it matter how he proposed??? The truth is that he was trying to be romantic. Guys cannot read our minds, but they know that we like originality. So thats what he went for. And u definetly should not let a slipup that he thought he did well, ruin your relationship. And I know this is really long, but I think we have established that the problem is bit lack of expensive ring, it is Internet. Seriously, atleast read some comments before you comment.
