Today, I realized that even though I was an honor student throughout school, and considered the golden child who was going to go far in life, all I've accomplished a year after graduation is becoming an unemployed single mother still living with my parents. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, after several long years, a lot of debt, and two great degrees from a top university, I had to move back in with my parents, because no matter where I look, I can't find a job. FML
Today, my mother once again called me to remind me what a disappointment I am despite having two degrees, a house, a professional job and having never been unemployed at 25. FML
Unwanted
Today, I found out my mom had been telling everyone how independent I was and just wanted to be left alone. I was homeless when I graduated valedictorian from high school and wondering why no one would let me stay with them, even when it was snowing. Now I know. FML
We feel for you, bruh
Today, I realised that I wasted my teenage life just to be a parent pleaser. I'm in the final months of high school and while everyone is enjoying the last days, I'm sat here being a "good" son, listening to my parents argue, maybe divorcing. I'm in tears and can't go out as I'm not invited to anything anymore. FML
Unreasonable
Today, I am one year away from getting a university degree. Unfortunately, my parents just kicked me out because I wouldn't drop out and work for free at our family's gas station. I'm now broke, homeless, and have no way to pay for school. FML
Grammie!
Today, after having spent years staying in school, working hard to achieve good grades, and avoiding all the bad kids, my mom accused me of having no direction in life and complained about how I haven't given her a grandchild yet. I'm 19. FML
So young, so jaded
Today, like every day, I scrolled through my social media feeds, seeing happy couples, people buying houses and landing their dream jobs. I, on the other hand, am a single 23 year-old man in a dead end job, who still lives with his parents. FML
End student debt
Today, I'm in a US college. I could've gone into a trade or internship, but no one listened. Now, while my parents brag to their friends that their child has a degree, I'll probably be spending the rest of life in crippling debt, sleeping on the side of the road, and begging strangers for table scraps. FML
Welcome to the rest of your life
Today, my parents used to tell that me life gets way better after high school. Yeah, for everyone else at my school. They’re partying it up in college or travelling during gap years, meeting all sorts of people. I have to work more than full time because my parents kicked me out the week after I graduated. FML
Stuck
Today, I’ve been unemployed for a year since graduating. I haven’t been able to find a job or feel any joy in my life, and have been stuck at home, completely relying on my parents, but now they’re gonna kick me out. I’ve turned into a complete failure, I can’t even kill myself because I’m not brave enough. FML

So you're a 19-year old who was irresponsible enough to get knocked up, and you're complaining? Did you think someone would hand you success on a silver platter? Sorry princess, life doesn't work that way. You want to be successful? Work for it.

You were an honor student and couldn't read the instructions on a condom? or birth control pills?

You produced a child and you are mooching off your parents so you don't have to lift a finger. How can that be considered anything less than smashing success?! Even though you've got the world dicked, you can portray yourself as a loser to gain pity and sympathy. Well played! You pretend you are a loser when you are . . . duh . . . winning!

True. The time she has been spending off them is not helping her lifestyle situation.

I understand it's hard working with a baby... but it's not gonna get easier. I have a four year old and a damn good paying job. and yes, I am single. so I won't technically vote either way but if you dont do it now, you're gonna be screwed forever

Your logic is so asinine that we can justify even the most grimy FMLs on the website as being nothing more than being lucky. . Oh you got raped?. . .Well SHUT THE HELL UP, somebody finds you attractive enough to aggresively force themselves on you. . You're lucky! Oh you were robbed at gunpoint?. . .Well if you had money in your pocket it means you can make more money, unlike people in some other countries. . You're lucky! Frankly, whether or not the situation leading to this happening was her fault [which in all likelyhood she shares some of the blame] the situation still does, indeed, suck considering the community around her. . And not throwing other sob stories around downplaying a poor situation.

y'all are harsh. she never said it was after high school and could very well be after college. and she could have been with the father for a while and things just didn't work out. it happens and that doesn't make her stupid or irresponsible. have faith girl. soon enough you will have a better job than these jerks and life will be wonderful with you and your precious blessing.

I agree... I'm 27 & a single mother of a 14 month old. I'm unemployed, living at home and finishing my college degree. Everyone seems to think that you can just walk out your front door and get a job handed to you. it doesn't happen that way.. I have put in several applications and resumes the past few months and just recently got a call for a interview this week. So I know how you feel. You just have to ignore some of these ignorant assholes on here and keep working at it, you'll eventually get back on track. it just takes a little time.

"soon enough you will have a better job than these jerks" Really? How do you know? Because she's currently suffering? Because she's got an education? Or plainly because people are being mean to her? Yes, I do think your warped logic applies to the last catagory. You have evidently not lived long enough to see most bad people never see comeuppances and many good people struggle their entire lives. These idiotic asinane comments pertaining to someone's very real dire straits being about to change because someone was a meanie to them really gets my goat. Its completely trivialising her situation to say such a stupid and moronic sounding thing - its the statement you give a young child so they might shut up. When you grow up, you realise that sometimes all the throwaway well-wishes in the world can't get you out of something. Do I believe this girl can sit back on her arse and wait for your declaration, your utter faith, in her change of fortunes to just hit her as she whines about the choice she made to bring a baby into the world? No. If she wants to change anything she has to work for it and she knows it. Idiotic, pathetic statements like these are cheap and a penny for a hundred. Way to go with your under-developed empathy.

Quit bitching. You got yourself pregnant. You could have done many things to prevent this, especially since you and everyone around you had such high hopes and expectations. At least your parents are still letting you live with them. If my boyfriend got me pregnant right now, my parents would kick me out and say "WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD." Now is the time for you to prove how much of a golden child you are. Sorry sweetie, but book smart can only get you so far. Determination and motivation count towards a lot. So why don't you use your intelligence, MOTIVATE yourself (I mean, if your child can't motivate you, then you really are ******) and figure out a way to get your life back on track instead of looking for sympathy on FML.

Amen. This is your test right now of how much a golden child you can be. If you can step up to this, you can step up to pretty much anything. Your learning lessons now that takes some people decades to learn - that you can have all the good grades and shining sticky stars in the world but if you dither or crumple in a crisis then who the hell, in any respect, employment or otherwise, is ever going to want you?
