Today, I found out I'm starting to get varicose veins, typical in older people who don't move enough. I'm 34 and I get 9 hours of exercise a week. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Keep fit
Today, I found out why I was gradually getting worsening hip pain in those muscles. Turns out I was slouching too much and it had finally caught up with me. I'm only 39. Nothing like needing to go to physical therapy to correct my posture before I turn 50. FML
Today, I was trying to exercise more, so I went for a walk. I was quickly overtaken by a middle-aged lady with cankles, carrying heavy shopping bags in each hand. I'm 19, skinny, and apparently very unfit. FML
Knackered and shattered
Today, I decided to start exercising. I almost passed out five minutes into the warm up, and couldn't even stand in the shower afterwards. I'm only 21. FML
Today, I was trying to work out, and couldn't even complete an exercise regime meant for 50-year-olds. I'm 24. FML
Edmund Hillary
Today, my sciatica is so bad that my feet feel like they have frostbite, I don't know what to do. Getting older sucks. FML
I don't like to move it, move it
Today, I realized just how sedentary both my work and home lives are after I went to the doctor with a rash on my butt and he diagnosed it as bedsores from near constant sitting. FML
Let's grow old together
Today, I stood up wrong from the toilet, leading to me pulling a muscle in both of my thighs, just above the knees. This made me feel old, and even older when I immediately remembered this website from when I was still young. I'm 29 now. FML
Wait til you're 50
Today, I've reached the age where I get really dizzy and my vision blurs if I stand up too fast. I'm 19 years-old. FML
Keeping up
Today, lots of guys my age are confident and in the best shape of their life. I've been working out since high-school. However, since I turned 20, my body has become increasingly injury prone on my joints and tendons from wear and tear. I feel like I'm slowly breaking down and I'm only 24. FML
Chilly
Today, I'm a young, healthy non-smoker, getting plenty of exercise and walking about 8.000 steps a day. I still have ice-cold feet. Even wearing two pairs of socks. And Lambswool boots. In July. FML

I don’t know who told you varicose veins happen to inactive people, but they actually usually happen to people who stand for long periods of time. Nurses, teachers and waiters all commonly get varicose veins. There’s also a large genetic component.

Genetics and standing. You may be very susceptible to them and unfortunately always being on your feet made them worse. Sorry about that! If you treat them, get something else fixed on you that requires you off your feet for the same length of time. It's week/s of recovery time depending on how much was removed.

Rx: Up it to twelve hours a week and reduce your age to 28 or below.

umm do you think 9 hours of exercise a week is alot? thats might be your problem there. Walking or cycling to work takes me 40 minutes daily Going to the store means a 5 mile walk and i work a manual labor job where i lift heavy boxes all day so i get 10-12 hours of exercise a day

Hang on a second, I have to get out my tiny violin so I can score this "and I walked up hill both ways through six feet of snow barefoot" one-upping.

My 38 year old husband got them after 12 hour shifts in a factory.

They don’t just come with age. You’re old enough to know that, and get them.

You are poorly misinformed about varicose veins. You can get them at almost any age, whether or not you’ll get them is largely genetic, and proper hydration can help alleviate them (to an extent).

Pregnancy is a major cause too.
