Today, I made a positive remark to the owner of my local groceries store for employing a special needs girl. Not only is the girl not mentally handicapped, she's also the owner's daughter. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was at work handling the cash register. It wasn't working correctly, so I apologized to the woman I was waiting on for the delay and explained, "The cash register's being a little retarded today." Then I noticed her clearly "special" adult son standing behind her. FML
Today, I was at work at a local hot dog chain. A child (about 10, who I've seen there before) came in to order food for his Dad. He orders very excitedly, and I told him he'd be a great worker here when he gets older. He said "oh no, my Dad says I'm too smart to work in a place like this." FML
Today, my 17-year-old employee accidentally called me "Dad". We all got a good laugh from it and went on with our days. Later, after getting her some coins for her cash drawer, she playfully said, "Thanks, Daddy." The customer she was serving? My wife. FML
Today, I went grocery shopping with my grandmother. Our bagger offered to help load our groceries, to which my grandmother replied, "Oh, what a nice young colored boy." FML
Reviews
Today, I made brownies for my co-workers. My boss called me into his office, and I though he was going to compliment me on the baking. Instead, he talked about how his 5-year-old daughter can make brownies better than me. FML
Today, I was working at my job as a cashier, checking out an elderly woman's groceries. She was very nice, and we chatted for a couple minutes. Once she had paid, she leaned close to me and said, very politely, "I'm so so sorry that I mistook you for a girl at first, young man." I AM a girl. FML
Storage wars
Today, I brought my daughter to work with me. When we walked in, a client was blowing up at my boss, all because as my boss was walking past his storage unit, he glanced in and was about to compliment how neat it was. After my boss left, I had to deal with the aftermath, which left my daughter terrified of this man. FML
Today, I was at the fish store asking if they were hiring. My stepdad decided to humiliate me by screaming at them repeatedly that I'm a good person and that I deserve the job. FML
Office embarrassment
Today, the girl who works at the liquor store came to where I work. She recognized me. FML
Look up here
Today, during my shift at a restaurant, my boss's daughter came in. I couldn't help but notice that she was almost popping out of her low-cut top. After having a private chat with her, my boss took me aside and said, "My daughter's got eyes you know, not just a pair of tits". FML

Ha, you're a bitch. -.-

And you're stalker level creepy. Lol

Please explain to me how OP is a bitch. "Positive remark" key word was "positive". It was a simple mistake any one could have made.
ShannyAK 16
How could op possibly know that the kid was handicapped or not?
ShannyAK 16
How could op possibly have known if tge kids handicapped or not?
Epikouros 32
The fact that she called her own remark 'positive' doesn't make it any less condescending.
laden_swallow09 35
You were right the first time, 36. :)

You're the bitch
sens3sfailing 25
103-who? Me? You didn't specify so I just read it like everyone reading is getting called a bitch. It makes me disgruntled.
ShyAnn29 15
Sometimes it's really hard to tell if someone is handicapped or not, OP is not a bitch for making a simple mistake!
AllyyK 9
#104 Really?! Clearly she was calling #1 a bitch, not you or anyone else. She didn't specify, but it's a little obvious to anyone that has common sense. So no need to get 'disgruntled'. You shouldn't be on FML if you get offended that easily, especially since no one was talking to you.
LevyLove 17
"But it's a little obvious to anyone who has common sense." Oh, the irony....
SmallBean 12
Is it really that difficult to know if someone is mentally handicapped? By making the statement, op must've been pretty sure or else she most likely wouldn't have even said anything.
onlychildFTW 34
I feel bad for OP. awkward turtle.
umyeahh 13
Agreed

9- Thank you for restating 2's comment I didn't quite understand it the first time.

I agree #2. My boyfriend asked me if a girl who lived across the hall from me had down syndrome. She didn't...but she over heard him say that and now she hates us both...

When in doubt.. Just shut up.

"So does she take Special K, or does she just stick to fruit loops?" That's a bad, OP. Bad.
Stalkerloo 11
What's wrong with fruit loops?
LiterOfCola 16
They're loopy
winkydog4056 16
#60_Froot Loops destroy the roof of your mouth.

#96- really? How so?
SokDek 14
Well that wasn't very smart.
Overatedlife_fml 5
I wonder what she did to make you think she was handicapped.
Carmstro 13
Did it have anything to do with the crocs she was wearing?
SystemofaBlink41 27
75- if I judge by that, more than half of the people on my facebook are downright retarded...
ShyAnn29 15
86, if crocs make you handicapped, then there's a lot of handicapped people, including me
Alliente 9
109- I don't know what makes me more disappointed, the fact that you wear crocs or that you outright admit it to people.
sheethapins 13
"Ohmergerd frert loops mah fravreret!"
olgakl 8
I wonder what made her make any remark at all, especially on such subject
Dusty_Busters 15
"hey nice Crocs!" said no one ever
berichsoon 11
I don't know what made you think that, but that's little mean
MichellinMan 20
Actually that was very polite. She didn't know she wasn't mentally handicapped. But that probably really pissed off the owner and the daughter, leading to OP getting fired.
berichsoon 11
OP getting fired? OP doesn't work there, she was buying groceries.
MichellinMan 20
^damn you dyslexia...
Soloman212 28
Don't see how dyslexia excuses poor reading comprehension.. Not to belittle anyone who actually has the disorder.
MichellinMan 20
^ Actually I do have dyslexia. But I'll admit I also have bad reading comprehension. So the combination of those two ******* sucks, and makes reading anything suck.
PunkySpunky78 15
I have dyslexia too and so do many stars like Bella Thorne or Orlando bloom

There's a reply button for that.

There's also a barber shop. Go get a haircut Bieber
emeraldisle 30
What made you think she was handicapped in the first place?
Nekogami 14
Why do People ask these questions as if hoping to actually get a reply? It is so odd. I will never understand lol.
Hiimhaileypotter 53
#13- Because the OP CAN respond, and occasionally do. Most don't, but when they do, they answer questions.
lilhellian 27
20 Todays example is the train fml. Look at comment 51 which is a reply to comment #6.
emeraldisle 30
13 - what's it matter to you if I ask a question or not? If you don't like it, don't comment on it.
lindora 35
I can't see the comment :(

It's probably time to find a new grocery store
kleider1 9
I could just imagine how she must feel. "Today, while working at my parents grocery store, I was mistaken for being mentally handicapped. That's jury how I am. FML"
