Today, I lent a pair of expensive headphones to a "friend" for the weekend. As a thank-you, he bought me a soda. He moved this weekend, taking the headphones with him. I lost a $250 pair of headphones for a $1 soda. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my "best friend" stole almost $1,000 worth of electronics and video games from my roommates and me, just so he could pawn them off and buy himself a new car stereo. FML
Today, my mother threw away my brand new headphones. She saw them on the couch with duct tape on the wires and assumed they were "old, broken, and cheap." I put the tape there to avoid damaging the wires. FML
Bring headphone jacks back on all smartphones!
Today, I bought new earphones for my phone so I could finally listen to music again. Not an hour later I broke it. FML
Today, I gave my friend a $5 VR set that I purchased from the dollar store for Christmas. I received a $60 gift card. Later, I realized I left the receipt in the package. FML
Today, I found out that just because my roommate doesn't buy alcohol, it doesn't mean she isn't stealing mine and slowly replacing it with water. That bottle cost me $150 and was destined to be a present for my best friend, whom I haven't seen in years. FML
Money ain't a problem when you've got it
Today, I listened as my ridiculously wealthy friend excitedly rambled on and on about her latest shopping trip. This is the same friend who owes me £150, and accused me of being insensitive for asking her to repay it at some point. FML
Today, out of the goodness of my heart, I went to work to help out a co-worker even though my last day was last week. I parked in a garage a block away for 2 hours. I paid $20 to park, didn't get paid, am spending $400 to get my back window replaced, and I have to buy a new iPod. FML
Entitled much?
Today, a woman came up to me at a restaurant and asked if her autistic son could borrow my headphones. I agreed, but when they were leaving and I asked for them back, she accused me of trying to steal MY headphones that she BORROWED from me. If not for other people backing me up, I would have lost them. FML
Today, I was telling my co-workers about how I'd gotten tickets to a concert in a few days. My boss overheard. Later, he told me I now have to work on the night of the concert. However, he was kind enough to offer to buy the tickets off me for half of what I'd paid for them. FML
Today, I went shopping with a friend. She picked up a hundred dollars on the floor that somebody dropped. I told her, "I feel sorry for the retard who dropped the money." When I got home, I checked my purse and realized that I was missing a hundred dollars. FML

Beats me why he wouldn't tell you he was moving. How long did you know this imbecile? I never let my best friends of 10 years+ even borrow a toothpick.

I would think that you know other people who know him and maybe you can find out from them where he is. You can also go to the police and file as this amount is a felony. If you do find him don't confront him. Just call the police and he will be in a world of hurt.

To hell with the police, call Judge Judy. You're more likely to get a positive outcome on something that should go to small claims court there than trying to get felony charges on a he-said-she-said case.

A friend wouldn't have asked to borrow them in the first place.

Don't lend things just never...you can treat your Friends to lunch but just don't lend things out...it doesn't really always pan out the right way...

Also look him up on Facebook and other sites. And, like others, I think $200+ headphones are stupid and loaning them to a friend who need quotation marks around that word may be God's way of saying you shouldn't have spent that much money on them in the first place?

I'm sorry, op, but I must ask.... why on earth do you have $250 headphones? I always get the $25 ones at best buy with the microphone so I can talk on the phone without holding my phone. go buy one of those!

You're not a very good friend if you didn't even know he was moving this weekend. And if he indeed is not such a close friend, then why would you lend him such an expensive item ? YDI on this one, I'm afraid.

Make him mail them back. Or report him for theft?
