Today, I knocked an old-school slide carousel off my desk, scattering nearly 100 individual slides everywhere, including the specific slides my professor asked me to digitally scan, which were placed carefully on top. None of them are numbered. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was doing a PowerPoint presentation in front of my whole class, when I accidentally clicked on the folder that has zillions of pictures of my crush. He's one of my classmates. FML
I hate my life
Today, during a presentation, I gestured too dramatically and launched my pen across the room. It bounced off the projector screen, hit my boss’s coffee cup, and splattered it across the conference table. Everyone froze while I jokingly apologized to the table. FML
This meeting could've been an e-mail
Today, I was bored in a meeting, so I absentmindedly started flipping my phone like a fidget spinner. I lost grip, spun it towards the ground, then watched it slide across the floor directly to my manager's feet. FML
Brain freeze
Today, after I spent 3 days preparing for a presentation and practiced it at home. It was my turn in class, but my laptop wouldn’t connect to the projector. The teacher said, “Just explain without slides,” which erased my entire brain. I stared at my classmates in silence before blurting out, “The slides explain it better than I can.” FML
Chunk of change
Today, I was just about to do an important presentation in front of my boss and co-workers. When, without warning I tripped in front of everyone and knocked a VERY expensive computer off the table. How do I know it was so expensive? I'm paying for it. FML
Today, a kid in class dropped his paper on the floor. I held on to my desk with one hand and reached for the paper with my other hand. I lost balance and tilted both my chair and desk over, nailing the floor as everything on my desk hit the ground with me. He picked the paper up himself. FML
Today, I had to present a powerpoint in front of my class. When I was finished, no one clapped. On my way back to my seat, I slipped on a pencil and fell straight on my face. That's when everyone clapped. FML
Today, at my job as a librarian at an old library, I was shelving books. Things were great until one entire bookshelf fell over. The damage wasn't too bad. Then the rest fell down. FML
Today, my mother-in-law visited the house while my husband and I were at work. When we returned, we discovered she'd shredded and thrown away all the scribbled on papers sprawled on our messy desks. We're graphics designers. Those were rough sketches for about 14 different clients. FML
Today, while my teacher was in the middle of a lecture, I accidentally made it so my laptop would display everything upside down. It took me the rest of class to get it right side up again. FML

What college class still uses slide carousels? Funds must be at an all time low.

He told OP to scan them, not to sort them. So he knows.

That's actually going to be a pain in the ass to sort though. If I could help you I would OP!

No you wouldn't

Maybe he won't notice? I mean since he asked you to put them in order maybe he doesn't know what order they were in originally.

Ignorance is bliss I guess. Much of time hasn't been converted to Wikipedia or digital images, it makes them no less relevant or important. Just because it isn't bleeding edge doesn't mean it isn't vital factors in education.

The OP did mention that their professor wanted them to make them into digital slides. So maybe it's not funds as much as it's "if it's not broke, don't fix it?" Just my two cents.

#14, why else would OP be told to digitally scan them?

It shouldn't be that hard to reconstitute 100 Slides .... Have a nice 3 hours extra of work that you were suppose to be qualified to duplicate .

More importantly, how is it a student's responsibility to make digital copies of a school's resources?

At many high schools (mine included), some students have TA periods where they assist teachers or work in the office-- usually doing filing, sorting, or menial stuff like this. However, the use of the word 'professor' makes me think OP is either in college or grad school and working or TA-ing for the professor as part of a campus job or mentorship. It's not that unusual.

I sure hope you didn't scan a lot of them yet

If OP had scanned a lot of them already, it wouldn't be an FML. The problem is that the ones OP were supposed to scan got mixed in with other ones.
