Today, I co-starred in a production of Hamlet. Halfway through play, the actor playing Hamlet forgot his lines, threw a raging temper tantrum, screaming about how much he hated the play and how he wanted to go home in front of hundreds of audience members. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Not a theater kid
Today, I signed up for a theater production as they needed extras. I had exactly one line in the entire play. During opening night, I became so focused on remembering the line, I forgot to walk on stage when it was my cue. People stood there on stage waiting for my character, who was backstage, congratulating himself for not forgetting his line. FML
Cold feet
Today, after two months of rehearsals, an actor in my theater company decided he was unhappy with the role I gave him, so he refuses to perform. We open tonight. FML
Today, my family came to see me in my first acting role in Romeo and Juliet. It all went reasonably well for the first half hour or so, after which my seemingly shitfaced aunt started heckling and saying, "That's what she said" after every line, before eventually being thrown out by security. FML
Today, I was sword fighting in a play when I accidentally hit the other person in the head. He called me a bitch and stormed off stage, leaving me alone with an audience of 50. FML
Curtain call
Today, I was part of a community theater play as a prop helper. I was supposed to slide a fake letter under a door, but I got overenthusiastic and kicked it into the audience. The actor improvised, but the crowd laughed harder at my blunder than the actual play. FML
Today, I was sent the script to a play I'm participating in at school. After reading it a couple of times, I noticed that my part has been forgotten completely. FML
Pure entertainment
Today, I auditioned for a part in a play. I've been practicing for months, and was very excited. After I'd finished singing, the director whispered something to the other judges, and they all laughed. Hard. So much for the lead role. FML
Today, I was in a play and had a battle scene. I got a little too into it and wound up twisting my ankle. The audience was treated to me screaming like a little girl before face-planting the stage a moment later. FML
Everyone's A Critic
Today, I was hushed in a theatre during a play. I would normally appreciate a discreet silencing in the audience, but I was saying my lines. FML
Today, while in my drama class, my character in a play has to quickly jump up out from his desk. Somehow, my shirt got caught on the desk, ripping it almost completely off in front of a live audience. FML

You should have slapped that ******* drama queen in the face. Goddamned prima donna needs to be knocked down a few levels back to reality.

Nice. To OP, how is this ******* YOUR life. It is hysterical. I can't imagine this "production" being anything bigger than a backyard show if the lead can't remember the lines and would flip shit like that. I hope someone puts it on youtube.

Damn. William Shakespeare would cry if he were to witness this. >>;

Actually I think he would pull up his robe thing and charge at him at top speed and tackle him.

I was unaware that William Shakespeare wore a robe.

I dunno, he seemed like the kind of guy who would've laughed his head off about it then changed the play to match it. The moral is: let's be glad that never happened.

Im pretty sure Shakespeare cried when he saw Gnomeo and Juliet from up above
justalilrandom2 4
I doubt he would care, he only wrote parts of his plays and would be far too busy getting drunk to give a crap. He was actually an alcoholic and may have died in a drinking contest.

I don't think Shakespeare would cry; rather, wonder how he's still alive.

that probably made him flip in his grave!!

Actually he'd probably cry more about the fact that women were allowed to act in his plays... Back in his time period, men would even play a female role on stage.

This is a funny visual lol

Wow. Maybe you could think of this along the lines of "at least I looked fantastic in comparison". Shit goes wrong onstage all the time, although usually not as explosively as that. It's all in how you handle it. (Not that there's anything you could have done to salvage this clusterf*ck.)

Did you improvise? Maybe do a little jig til you got off stage?

Haha, I like it.

this should be FtheactorwhoragequitL rather than an FYL

But the actor would get a YDI, for handling that horribly wrong. F the OPs L because she had to co-star a play that bombed. At least soldier #2 didn't have his name on the fliers. XD

good thing he wasn't about to kill someone in the play or he might have actually killed someone a dagger he might kill himself in front of everyone.

Wow.. Is he 5? What a great way to save himself from the humiliation of forgetting his lines!
Prolusive 5
I don't think that's a good way to save from humiliation, I think it would have been less humiliating for him to not chuck a tantrum...
