Today, I arrived at my parents house for dinner. When I got there, I noticed that they had gay pride flags hanging from the porch, and gay rights bumper stickers plastered to their cars. There was also a huge "We accept you, Nick" banner hanging from the garage. I'M NOT GAY! FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I came out to my parents as gay and they reacted better than I expected. Then I found my car destroyed with a note that said "fag" on what used to be my hood. I never thought I'd have to sue my own family, but I'm lucky I have security footage. FML
Today, I came out to my parents. I don't really fit any stereotype, I'm just an average guy who happens to be into guys. Ten minutes later, I overheard my mother say to my step-dad, "Should we redecorate his room pink?" FML
Today, I finally got the courage to tell my parents that I'm gay. My mom said "Yeah, we know." When I asked how they knew, my dad, without looking up from the tv, said, "We've been monitoring your Internet history." FML
Today, my mom called me into the living room to say that she had something important to tell me. She then explained how she and my dad had "talked things over" and wanted me to know that they accept me and love me no matter what. Apparently my mom thinks I'm lesbian. I'm not. FML
Denial
Today, at 18, I finally told my mom I was gay. She spent the rest of the day bringing up my "future wife" at every possible chance she had. FML
Casual homophobia
Today, I came out to my parents and siblings as gay. They were very accepting and asked me why I waited until I was 25 to do so. I didn't have the heart to tell them it was their own homophobic remarks that kept me closeted since I realized it at 14, and that a previous coming-out to a parent was dismissed as 'a phase'. FML
Today, I was leaving to go over to a friend's and my parents suddenly ask if I'm gay. I reply that no, I'm bisexual. My mom then asks if I've ever made out with someone of the same sex and I say yes. She turns to my dad and says 'I told you so. You owe me $20'. My parents bet on my sexuality. FML
Today, I came out to my therapist as gay. Claiming that my parents "can't be that homophobic", my therapist outed me to them. They kicked me out of the house. FML
Today, I decided to introduce my girlfriend to my parents by telling them that we were gonna have a very special guest for dinner. While my mom was preparing the meal she asked, "What does he like?" I'm straight. My parents thought different. FML
About that...
Today, my brother came out to our parents. They weren't super happy with it, but they said that it was ok since they still had a straight son. I don't know how to tell them that I'm gay too. FML

This Is Awesome. I Truly Think This Happened To This Kid. His Screename Is Nick So I Find This Believable. It's Funny For Sure. I'm Gay, Wanna Trade Parents?

a) your sense of funny is apalling. b) this is possibly the most aggravating comment I've ever read. Why Don't You Try Handing In A College Paper Written Like This????

why don't you shut the bloody hell up and let people type how they please?

I don't believe this story. It's BS.

He's gay because he types poorly. Maybe his parents would love him if he did it properly. Also, it's ok that you're gay, OP!

Great story, but I don't see the FML in this.

You don't see it? His parents think he's gay and pretty much broadcast that out to anyone within eyeshot of their house. But he's not gay. And now anyone of the neighbors who know him will quite possibly think he's gay. But he's not. If you still don't get it, picture yourself in his position. Unless you actually ARE gay, then this won't work.

There's nothing wrong with being gay. I'm gay and That sounds like something I would do for one of my friends. This guy should just learn to laugh at himself. Even if he's not gay, it makes a great story for later. :)

that would be a good prank to pull on someone.

Maybe they think you are acting/dressing like a gay person? Cool parents though.

How does someone dress like a gay person?

You should return the favour to whoever told them you were gay.

That's a brilliant prank. Thanks for the idea, or rather, thank your parents! Hahahaha

Yeah, this ranks pretty highly amongst posts that make me wish there was an "oh FFS, why do you think this is a FML moment?" button.

It's nice they care! Probably should have asked you first though, heh.
