Today, as I was brushing my teeth, I heard my mum praying to God to help her "get rid of such a stupid child". I have no idea what I've done wrong, and she's refused to talk to me all day. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my mom and siblings got into a fight. Being generally quiet and non-confrontational, I stayed out of it. Shortly thereafter, I was yelled at by my mother for being "ungrateful" and "disrespectful." I still don't know what I did wrong. FML
Today, my mother refused to talk to me because I wouldn't let her use my deodorant stick. FML
Today, my normally very modest and prissy mom came home, pissed off about something. I asked her what was wrong, but she wouldn't say, and snapped at me to "fuck off." She then grounded me for "making" her use that kind of "vile language." FML
Today, I said a few words to my mom that happened to be similar to something offensive, and she misheard. I tried to tell her, but she was so angry that she assumed I was saying more offensive things. Now she is punishing everybody in the house, and I’m not allowed to speak to her. FML
Today, my mom complained that I was being too loud, and she smacked my head really hard. All while screaming at me. FML
Today, my stepmother started talking to me after a month of the silent treatment. When I asked her what I had done wrong, she replied, "Nothing, but do you know that feeling when you look at someone and you just want to choke them?" FML
Today, my mom decided to infodump on me as I came home needing to take a shit. She wouldn't stop talking and calling me back when I tried to walk off. I couldn't get a word in, and she was ignoring my gestures. She's now calling me disrespectful because I finally ran off and dropped a loud one in the toilet. FML
Today, my mom called me and asked me to fix her computer, three days after saying she never wanted to see me again for dating a boy. I got lectured to on how I'm ruining my life the whole time. FML
Today, I told my mom I wasn't doing very good mentally and I was looking for some support. She decided to remind me of all of the things I still haven't paid her back for. I'm now an unpaid loan, not her daughter. FML
Today, my mum had no legitimate reason to have her daily yell at me, so she resorted to bitching me out for putting her phone on charge after it started beeping with a low battery warning. FML

That's actually pretty rough to hear, but hopefully she didn't mean what she said... Maybe she had a tough day and decided to take it out on you..Just let her be for the day, and then when she's a bit calmer, talk to her about it, or at least let her know she did hurt your feelings a bit..

That's because it is, because this is a common way for an abuser to abuse their victim that largely leaves the victim unable to retaliate or defend themself. The abusers stages something like what OP heard where they know the victim will see or hear it, then pretend they didn't do anything. This means the victim either: A) Has to endure it because they are afraid of being punished, and thus makes it easier for the abuse to take root. OR B) Denies/counters the abusive claims, and gets punished for "eavesdropping" It's used in conjunction with gaslighting a lot, as well.

Because a lot of society and especially certain large sections of the government think that all people with wombs MUST want to have kids, and don't have the right to control their body. And even if they have access to healthcare to help prevent unwanted children and pregnancies, there are people that then threaten, shame, and harass those who so much as consider those options, regardless of how obviously unfit the parent is. Those same people then promptly stop giving a **** once the new human (that they insisted the old, poorly adapted for parenthood one finished making) take their first breath of fresh air. I could keep going about all the ways people **** over children by essentially forcing people who should NOT be parents, into being parents, but I won't.
