Today, after running late for work, my boss called me into his office and asked me why I was wearing a uniform shirt that said Amanda. My name is Rob. Amanda is my fiancé, who works for the same organization at a different location. Employees are prohibited from dating each other. FML

Wow, my first FML post. It's actually a government organization, dating is prohibited because of "Conflict of Interest." We are close to the same size physically. We both wear the middle of road medium size. In all reality, its our last names on the shirt, but it still sucks.

that's stupid, IMO. your workplace should have no say in your personal life, assuming your personal life doesn't interfere with your work.

You know what really sucks? This is one of those situations where you have no idea what to say when you're caught off guard, but probably can think of a million plausible excuses when there's no pressure or time limit. (I've ordered them: Topmost is easiest to believe. Bottom one is most foolish / requires the hardest sell) --"Oh wow, I didn't notice that. I just ordered this shirt. They must have mixed up orders." --"Some of my shirts went missing so Amanda loaned me one of hers." --"I found it lying around and thought, 'hey, free shirt.'" --"It's my nickname. I never told you?" --"Oh wow, I didn't notice that. Amanda's washing machine broke down so I let her use mine. She left it there by mistake and I thought it was mine." --"HR said it was 'Shirt Swap Day.' I thought it was a dumb idea but I need the Casual Day Coupons." --"Me and Amanda are fornicating." (Followed by a gunshot to boss' head) Oh well. Hope you don't get fired.
