Today, a street "musician" drummed on buckets directly outside my work for two hours. Right as I was about to lose it, he stopped playing. Within 5 minutes, someone else started playing the saxophone. FML

yeah, I thought of that, but these guys do this all day in different places, and make a ton of money from tourists. the amount of money I can afford to give probably wouldn't mean shit to them.

just tip the guy to make him leave

Sound blocking headphones might be an option here...

By "tip the guy", we mean tip him over, right? Preferably into traffic.

Think of it this way; you get to be musically serenaded for free! Everyday! Unless, of course, you're one of those souless maniacs who hates music.
Rykers 18
I'm sure everyone appreciates music to some degree, But everyone has their limits. I would imagine into the second hour of 'Bucket Drumming' the novelty wears off. People like quiet sometimes, I don't see what's wrong with that. That and I certainly would struggle to concentrate at work with that in the back ground - Just my 2 cents.

I agree with rykers. especially outside of the workplace, but I have a hard time focusing period amd this would just absolutely murder my concentration. hopefully the sax was marginally better than the bucket fucket. assuming they know how to play it. ( I'm guessing that's a no, tho. )

Probably not the best thing to do while at work though.

Depends on what OP's job is.

It's something they could probably bring up with their supervisor. especially if it's distracting on top of obnoxious, they might allow for it just to improve the work being done.
qteabutt 12
Like #1 said, just pay him to play somewhere else.
buttcrackles 9
If #1 said it, why would you proceed to say the same as he did?
qteabutt 12
because I'm a ******* retarded **** buttcrackles, why else?
Colon_Man 17
Oh, yeah? Prove it! I bet you're not!

Mmm well parents seems to agree with it so then it must be true.

Street musicians are easy to get rid of. Go outside and sing along. Badly. Very badly. After 5 minutes of making no money they'll go away.

Perks of living downtown... This is like moving to an airport neighborhood and complaining about the airplane noises. Walk to the bar around the corner, have a drink and when you get home after dark the guy will be gone anyway.
bambisapphic 18
Yeah, I'll just leave my job and go to a bar for a couple hours. My boss probably won't notice. Did you even read the FML?
Mightytall 35
Reading comprehension fail on my part. Sorry, I somehow understood you live there. Of course you cannot simply leave work and have a pint. Then I'd follow the advice of going down there and singing really bad for a few minutes ... maybe some of your co-workers and boss will join you if they feel the same way about monotonous trashcan drumming and endless repeats of the same saxophone loops

You must work on Pearl street haha

Two hours? I would have asked to him to leave after the first five minutes. If he wasn't gone within the next five minutes I'd call the cops.

You sound like a lot of fun.

Can you close the windows to your office or does it come through even the closed windows? I'm sorry. I used to work in an office with poor ventilation, so we kept the windows open and got to hear all sorts of street traffic.

Call the police and report him for disturbing the peace. I had to do that at my last place of business and they made then stop.
