Today, I got a new title at work. My boss hyped it up and made it sound amazing, so I accepted. Come to find out it pays 20k less a year and is twice as much work. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was forced into accepting a "promotion" for a position that pays less than what I get right now. FML
Promotion, huh?
Today, I was promoted. After going to school for 10 months to get certified for the new position, training extensively, and taking on a ton more responsibility, I was hoping for a decent raise. How much do my bosses think all of that time and effort is worth? One dollar more per hour than I made before. FML
Today, my boss found out I had applied for a much better paying job. He told me I'd do a better job and make more money there. Then he fired me. FML
Boss man
Today, my boss agreed to a 20% pay rise, in exchange for adding a list of new responsibilities to my job description that will effectively double my workload, which he expects to be carried out in the same 8 hour workday, and not on overtime either. My boss is my dad and I hate him. FML
Money money money!
Today, I got a promotion to management at work. My employer decided to give the 'non-management' employees a really nice raise. Which means the job I had before my promotion is now paying more than the job I have now. Did I just get demoted? FML
Today, I got promoted. By promoted, I mean, given a much harder job with no training and no extra pay because someone went on maternity leave. They've already hired someone for my old position. FML
Today, I was offered a promotion but for the same pay. Promotion... WTF? FML
Today, after 3 years at my job I received a 14% raise. I was informed I will be transitioned from hourly to salary. I will now be making $1500 LESS than I made last year. FML
Today, my boss got a promotion and I got laid off. FML
Nepotism rules
Today, I got notice that I didn't get the new position I applied for at work. After two interviews, pay negotiation and paperwork, as well as years of giving this place all my time, I found out my boss gave it to his friend's daughter, who has no experience or credentials needed for the position. Sorry you got suckered into such position. However, I still voted YDI cuz it's an internal recruitment and you should have held out till you knew all the facts. Especially the pay part.

Yeah, probably should have asked for more details. YDI.

He was able to hype a demotion so well that you went for it? Is his degree from Trump University?

Is the tittle "Senior Executive Booger Picker Upper"? If so, I understand why you didn't ask for details before switching. Just because it has "Senior" or "Executive" in the title, doesn't guarantee it's a promotion or there's a salary raise.

Didn't you read the job specification before going for it?

My first question is always "HOW MUCH?" How could this happen to you?

They could create a position like “toilet manager” and expect employees not reading the job descriptions and go for that “fancy” “managerial” position. YDI
