This is not a choice
Today, I came out to my parents. Now my dad only refers to me as "Nancy Boy", and not in a nice way, that’s if he even bothers to speak to me at all. Mostly he just pretends I don’t exist. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I came out to my parents. They laughed in my face. FML
Today, I learned that now that my mom is dead, and my dad doesn't need my emotional support during her illness anymore, he's going to go back to insulting me every time he talks to me. FML
Today, my dad sat me down for a talk. After the talk, he wasn't my dad anymore. FML
Today, I met my boyfriend's family. He calls his parents things like “geriatric hag” and “old clown”. I was about to yell at him, but they started calling him “nancy boy” and “nerd”. Apparently they love each other, but only communicate through abuse. I can’t believe I may soon marry into this mess. FML
Today, I came out to my parents. They still think I'm joking. FML
Today, I briefly considered coming out to my parents when the topic of LGBTQ+ people came up in conversation, until my dad called them “socially deranged.” FML
Today, I came out to my parents. My mom and dad think that I'm lying, just so I could "fit in" with everyone else. FML
Today, I came out to my father. He seemed to be totally okay with it, as long as I'm the "man" in my relationships. FML
Today, I came out to my dad. He called me weak minded and said that he has never been more disappointed in me. I didn't come out as gay. I came out as a vegetarian. FML
Today, I came out of the closet. Now whenever I'm getting ready to go somewhere with my dad he says, "Lesgo, lesbo." FML

Every time he calls you "Nancy Boy", start singing it. It's a great song.

Aw man, I’m sorry. This is exactly why I’m not out to my mother either. But the good thing is that our community has always been right there to offer support and fill that gap, when you’re able to get out on your own.

Would you like him to call you "Nancy Boy" in a nice way? That would be more disturbing than him snubbing you.

It will take time for him to fully process. I know several people it took over a year when their son came out. I am willing to say he still loves you but is trying to process it. He could be yelling and screaming about it, so take that as a good sign. Give him time and reassure him that you have not changed who you are. You are still his son and still love your parents. Let your mom help talk to him too. it sounds like you may have an ally there.

It may take Dad time to process, but once OP is out on their own, they are under no obligation to associate with Dad.

FYI, Nancy Boy is only derogatory, there is no nice way to use it
