The client is always a pain in the tush.
Today, a client wanted me to change the design I'd given him, again. I've been working with this client for a week now, giving him many designs throughout the week, and he rejected all of them. After all of the changes he wanted, he said that I should just use the first design I sent to him. FML

It sucks, but it has a solution. Whenever I'm working on a new project, I offer a set amount of corrections and changes. After that, each one adds to the bill. I've had clients pay 30% extra in changes they've made.

Welcome to being a designer. It sucks, but it is what it is.

You should charge them extra for all the designs after the first one.

This is exactly why I make all of my design changes with the black quill that Dolores Umbridge has Harry write lines with. Mine is rather unique in that it's set to drain the blood of my clients. I'm willing to answer pricing inquiries if you have any…

Sounds like my boss. I give her a proposal, she asks me for other options, but always goes with my original proposal.

Nothing annoys me more than clients who do this. Why waste time and resources???

You should have in your contract only a certain amount of revisions for free and after that they are charged when they need to make a change. Funny, when you start doing this, they are much better at deciding what they want. You should also make them fill out a brief so that way if they veer too far away, you have the paperwork that says otherwise.

Ugh. I feel your pain, OP. I once had a client who absolutely loved her design, except for the background colour. I spent an entire week changing it to various shades of green (at her request) and she ended up not liking any of them and cancelled her order altogether. Another wanted a cursive font, but didn't like any of the ones I showed her. I suggested she go to a font website, pick out the one she wanted and I would download it to use. She responded "That's your job" and demanded I download EVERY font and send her mock ups of her design with each one. When people get ridiculous with requests like that, I simply charge them extra as a "bitch tax." Something to consider for next time. ;)

A "Bitch Tax" could actually be useful in a lot of industries!
