Social life

Today, after I spent years making fun of people who buy expensive coffee every morning instead of making it at home, and after I got a remote job and started living alone, I realized the barista at the café is currently the closest thing I have to a social life. Yesterday she remembered my order and I nearly felt emotional. FML

I feel like coffee shops provide an atmosphere that is relaxing and help people unwind or allow concentration when heavily needed. Much like people could make food at home but choose to eat out. It’s a luxury yes, but when you aren’t ready to meet shitty coworkers, it’s that one big breath that lets you tackle the world in chaos. I don’t frequent them as much as I used to (my job is on the road now) but in corporate world or retail hell, it’s that last second of peace for yourself and the energy kick for those who can actually use caffeines effects, to orient yourself in the right direction
