Today, I told my girlfriend that my grandma died, expecting to be comforted. She got mad at me for "stealing her thunder" because her cat died two days ago. FML

Bloody hell, people. The misogyny here is so thick I could cut it with a knife. And this is worse than most in that so many people here are hypocrites who are saying "DUMP THAT ***** BITCH HO!!!111" but then turn around with "sorry bout your grandma op. :'(" If you're going to be an asshole, at least have some integrity about it. Have you ever heard of irrational reactions to things? What about forgiveness of mistakes? We all **** up and say things we wish we hadn't, and I'd really bet that the OP's girlfriend feels terrible about what she said in a moment of uncontrolled emotion. Snap judgments and jumping to conclusions really are the ultimate Epic Fail.

Ah damn. That's not nice at all. I know the feeling both loosing a family member and a cat. If you're an animal lover, I'd understand your GF's sad'n'mad. But it's still no excuse to suck at your grand's death. Sorry for your loss
