Today, despite being an incredible single mother to my only child, and loving him more than anyone else could, my son still completely ignored me and my attempts to hug him at his gender reveal party with his wife. Apparently she deserved a hug more than I do. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my two year-old son consistently ignores my mom and will crawl towards my dad every time. My mom is now refusing to visit because a two year-old hurt her feelings. I get it, being ignored hurts, but come on, he’s two. FML
Today, I took my son to a birthday party. He spent the entire time clinging to my hand and refused to play with his friends, eat, or participate in activities. His friend tried to pull him away from me, but he refused to go. When we left, he started crying because he felt left out. FML
Today, and ever since I gave birth to my son, I’ve hated being a mom. I held him, waiting for the rush of love my mom told me I’d feel and… nothing, I was completely emotionless about holding my newborn son and it’s gotten worse. I really hate being a mom, and my husband just does not understand. FML
Today, after my 4 year-old was so excited to be a big sister, hugging my belly every chance she got, counting down the days till the due date, my son was born this morning. She took one look at him and declared, “I don’t like him, leave him here, do we have to keep him?” then started crying. FML
Today, my husband and I had a huge fight. I have a son from a previous relationship who he loves, but he wants more kids. My son is 9, almost 10, he's so used to being my baby that I can't bring myself to take that from him by having another baby. FML
Today, I received an angry phone call from a friend whose birthday party I missed last night. Yesterday, I gave birth to my son. She claims that I ruined her party and demands I still bring her a birthday gift. FML
Today, I went to see my mother with my kids. Before, I had told my son to give her hugs and kisses and I would buy him candy. He did, but then he told her that I said that. FML
Today, I realised my boyfriend is only nice to my son to make me happy. Turns out he hates children and will only do the minimum interaction with my 4-year-old son he can get away with, until he can fabricate an excuse to leave the room. FML
Today, I realized how much my family truly hates me. I had a whole baby and nobody showed up to the hospital. FML
Today, everyone says I'm being too hard on my son, who I disowned and went no contact with after he cleaned out all of my late wife's belongings without asking. I have nothing, literally nothing left of her now. FML

He's your son, not your husband. Of course he would hug his wife over you; she is now first in his life, not you. He's an adult now with his own family. You can be involved, but you have to respect them as a unit and their boundaries; if you can't do that, get therapy or stay away.

chances are your idea of good mom and everyone else's idea of good mom are very different. she is the main woman in his life now. you shouldn't have been within hugging distance right after the reveal. yes she deserved the hug, she is carrying the baby SHE is the mother. this is THEIR baby to be celebrating, not yours. cut the cord before they cut you out

Oh my gosh, if you're who I think you are, I saw this video. It was very embarrassing and you should be ashamed. He's your son, not your husband. Of course he would hug the MOTHER OF HIS CHILD first, and not his crazy mother

Cut the umbilical cord. The guy is old enough to be married and have kids of his own. Kudos to him for not falling into your trap of making him a mama's boy. Sounds like you need some serious help. Does post-partum depression last into adulthood? (Legit question, I have no idea.)
