Nice guys
Today, having split up with my husband, I tried to plan visitation so he could visit my sons, his stepkids, only to be told he has no intention of visiting kids that aren’t actually his, and that now we’re divorced they're entirely my problem and good riddance. FML

Did you live together for a long time so that your kids consider him as their father?

I won't say "you deserved it", but you shouldn't expect him to want to visit "step kids". let your sons know of his decision, and let them make the choice if they want to communicate with him.

Well technically he is right but a bit of a dick move if he’s been in their lives a long time but hey it may be a blessing in disguise for them

But if they aren’t his kids why would he want to see them unless you guys had been together a very very long time and they had a good relationship. I was with my partner for 2 years, I had no interest in seeing those feral creatures of his once we broke up!! I don’t blame the guy tbh unless we know the whole story

What's with all the YDI votes? If the husband was in the kids' lives and the kids thought of him like a father, then OP is probably trying to do the "right" thing for the kids so they can still see their "dad." Not her fault if the guy is a jerk who wants nothing to do with them.

I'm surprised you're surprised by this.

I'm sure that's upsetting but he's right. They're not his kids.
