Today, I found out that they won't hold my stimulus for child support, only to find out that they withheld it to give it to me when I file my taxes. Which child support will take. FML

Today, I was notified by my bank that the government stimulus check I had deposited last week had been returned. FML
Today, I found out that my tax filing status was never changed after my divorce. This means I haven't been paying enough and now the government wants its money. FML
Today, I found out that I owe the IRS money due to my previous job not taking enough taxes out. I am broke, unemployed, and was counting on a big refund so I could pay for my divorce. FML
Today, I found out the only reason my parents want me to live with them is because of the tax refund. FML
Today, I filed my taxes and I normally claim my parents as dependants. My taxes got rejected because my parents filed their taxes without informing me, and they don't have income. They believe if they file taxes, they get $5000 back, per Trump. It ended up costing me over $3,500 extra. FML
Today, I found out that my employers apparently haven't been taking enough money out of my paychecks, and now I owe thousands of dollars in taxes. I already live paycheck to paycheck despite doing nothing but work. FML
Today, to my horror, I discovered I will owe child support for the kids my ex and I adopted together since she couldn't have any. I've met someone else and I'm planning on having real kids with her, but these payments will destroy everything. FML
Today, I found out that my parents are 28,000 dollars in debt and that my bank account has $27.17 in it. They took my money to help pay their debt. FML
Today, I filed my taxes. As a divorcée with children, I was supposed to get $3,500 back from the IRS. Alas, my ex's new wife already filed with my children, who don't live with her. I now owe the IRS $250. FML
Today, after waiting 7 months to get my amended tax return refund, I was informed today that not only did they mail it to the wrong address, the person who they mailed it to cashed the check. FML

Yes, you need money to live, but kids first!!! They wouldn't be taking your tax money if you weren't behind! The kids deserve better!

What if the kid is mini-Hitler? Would the kid still deserve better then? There isn't enough information in the FML to conclusively determine that the child isn't basically a real-life Chucky, so we shouldn't judge! (For the avoidance of doubt, that was sarcasm)

You realise some of us are ordered to pay child support even though we have the kid more and pay for everything anyways on top of it ......get over yourself until you learn the whole story

Nothing here indicates that he is a dead beat at all all it indicates is that the woman requested child support and he is required to pay more than he can pay..... Remember some of us are really good dads being taken advantage of by the mother of our child even though we pay for everything and spend more time with the child and the mother they still are still manipulative enough to do this to us

Oh please. They don’t just take child support and taxes right off the bat when you get behind. It takes months to get to that point, since everything has to go through the court system. If the stimulus check got taken, that equals deadbeat, because that also means that the OP also hasn’t gotten a refund check from the IRS either. I know first hand how long it takes to get garnishments started under the system, whether it’s for child support, unpaid medical bills, etc. It is not a show up, and get the garnishment.
