Today, I went out on a first date with a cute guy. Turns out we won't be going on a date again because I didn't know the difference between "Star Wars" and "Star Trek." FML

That's okay, there probably wouldn't have been much room in his mom's basement for you anyway. If he's that obsessed about it, you're better off. I'm a geek, but my gf hasn't seen a star trek or star wars movie... and I haven't read 1/2 the books or have the interest in jazz she does.

You really should know what they are just because they're a huge, insanely huge, franchise. You probably shouldn't have been dumped because of it, but like everyone else said, conflicting interests. You should have just told him you knew what they were and then read the synapsis for both later that night. YDI

i dont know the difference either #30 some of us werent alive in the 60s. i know i wasnt born till around 30 years later. so if you call "not being even concieved yet", "living under a rock" and it a stupid thing to have that being the only reason your not together. if so then be happy your not with that guy. but its prob you just didnt have anything in common
