This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff

Today, I yet again purposely avoided the 'Health and Fitness' section on Pinterest to keep my self-esteem up. FML

Avoided the 'Heal and Fitness' section and went straight to the 'Dessert' section, I presume? Looks like social networking DOES have some similarities to reality. EDIT: Dammit Noor, you beat me to it!

I understand OP! I'm definitely not overweight, but I always avoid those sections. There'll always be someone prettier and skinnier, and then it's depressing to look in the mirror :/

34- You shouldn't let the looks of other people depress you! Yes, there will always be someone who is prettier, skinnier, etc, but you have to remember that beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder; someone you may view as "prettier" in YOUR eyes, may not be considered the same way by other people. Your goal should be to become satisfied with yourself, without comparing yourself to others. :)

I'm with Kylee. Some girl in a picture being pretty doesn't make you ugly. As long as you take care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally then you're fine!

I do that too

Good for you, OP. Much of the stuff on those boards is either garbage or poison. Shame, guilt, body-bashing and self-hatred packaged as "health advice" will make you sicker, not healthier.

I love pinterest! And If you are actually unhealthy OP, it would probably be best to try and improve your lifestyle. But this may not be the case, so if not, just ignore the first part of what I said. I hope your self esteem improves! :)

so you leave Pinterest where it makes you feel like shit and go to FML where you read about everyone else's shitty lives. Well played, OP, well played.

I get like that at times too, OP. Avoid food when you feel yourself losing motivation or putting yourself down at the sight of those images. Instead go outside for some air & walk, you'll feel a little better that you burned some calories instead of gained some over being sad. It'll motivate you to be more active if you start disciplining yourself with something small. Don't listen to people who say go to the gym. Make your life active with your ACTIVITIES then consider building up for exercise.

She just said she wanted to keep Her self esteem up, she never said "I need to lose weight." A skinny person can look at another skinny person and have bad self esteem. No matter your weight size, you can be self conscious. Everyone here just assumes she's gonna shove food in her mouth. So judgemental.

Don't worry! Our "perfect" body image is distorted! You're beautiful!
