Today, I got offered a ride to go home for the weekend. I go to college six hours away from home and haven't seen my family for almost two months. When I called my mom with the good news, she told me not to come. FML

Today, my family was leaving for a weekend trip and was supposed to pick me up on the way down. About an hour before they are supposed to arrive, my mom calls to tell me that there's no room left in the car, so they won't be stopping to get me. FML
Today, I told my parents I really missed them and wanted to come home for the weekend, as I haven't seen them in months. They told me that was a bad idea and they couldn't fit me into their schedule. I asked what their plans were. They said they didn't have any yet. FML
Today, my parents promised to drive me to my grandma's house instead of me taking the bus.I was so excited that I could finally have a week away from my suffocating parents but my dad cancelled tonight, so I'm stuck and secretly crying because if they'd have let me take the bus, I'd be at my grandma's, AWAY FROM THEM. FML
Today, I found out my mom booked me a flight to stay with relatives who I don't like, and who don't like me. I leave in two days, and don't return until the day before school starts. FML
Today, my mother knocked on the door of my room at 7am. I am currently over 300 miles from home, on a vacation to get away from my overbearing family. I told none of them where I was going. FML
Today, my mother won't let me intern at a prestigious college, working with graduate students and professors, and being paid, because she doesn't want to drive me. FML
Today, instead of having my friends come pick me up, my dad drove me over to visit them. He insisted on walking me up to the door, hugging me goodbye, and making sure my friends were appropriate enough to hang out with. I'm in college. FML
Today, my mom told me that she'd rather wait for the city bus all day than allow me to give her a ride. FML
Today, I got home from college. Since I haven't seen my parents in almost a year, I sorta expected them to come meet me/pick me up at the airport. Nope. What did I get instead? A text from my dad saying, "I hope you have a key." FML
Today, I drove 15 hours to drop my son off at my parents' for their vacation, just for them to tell me that they changed their minds and they're taking my sister's kids instead. FML

If you don't say why they told you not to come your statement means nothing - maybe they were away for some family celebration, and then it's absolutely nothing, or maybe they just didn't want to see you, and then it's FYL. More specifics! For now, maybe you should just STFU.

Uhh...there is nothing wrong with calling your PARENTS out of the blue telling them you have an opportunity to come visit...I don't know what kind of parents you guys have, but I don't have to ask for permission to come see my parents. If I get there and they're gone then that's bad luck and sucks for me, but since I still have key for the house it wouldn't be too big of a problem. My parents are always happy to see me and if they don't have time for whatever reason they'll say so. But they'd never just tell me "We don't want you to come" o.O

Because, you know, OP's Mom's life completely revolves around him, and she should be happy as hell to change plans at the last minute just for him. Besides, you know how these visits home work: OP comes home carrying a bag of laundry that he wants Mom to wash while he goes out and parties all weekend with his High School friends. maybe OP recieved the answer of why but the 300 word limit stop him from going deeper. or maybe he asked why but she gave no answer. but the bottum line is that he has been gone for two months and he got a cold don't come.

"Cold"? We don't know that. And two months? C'mon, that's not that long. If all his mom said was "Don't come", yeah, that's pretty screwed up. But I'm guessing there is some reason....if nothing else, maybe she's having surgery - to permanently remove the umbilical cord.
