Today, I found out that whenever I text my boyfriend something cute, he texts his friends and asks what to say in his reply. Basically, I've been talking to his friends all the time. FML

Also, if he does indeed text something that was suggested, I'm sure he paraphrased or at least agreed with it, or at least to an extent.

I honestly think that's right. I'm probably as nervous as the guy listed in the fml lol I totally would do the same for certain questions but not all of them.

Okay, he might not have wanted to say the wrong thing, but OP trusted HIM, not his friends, and talked to him about things that she probably only wanted /Him/ to know. So since he is talking to his friends about everything she says, it's kind of like an invasion of privacy.

Yeah I agree on that part, that her bf really wants her to think good of him, but she texts him to talk to HIM. She wants to know more about him and to see if this relationship is okay or not. She doesn't want a text that isn't written by him. That's not why she texted him.

Honestly sometimes I ask my sister in law what to say. Sometimes people just aren't good with words. Don't get me wrong I don't think it's right to do that for every little thing but certain comments I ask for suggestions with.

No, not everyone wants other people to see their messages. A friend of mine keeps asking me what to say to a girl he likes but I think if someone in a relationship asked I'd be a little concerned for them, unless it's a "I'm pregnant" and they say "what do I do???".

The bright side is, now you know his friends won't try to make you two split. They must like you if they were willing to help everytime , and that goes a long way to make a relationship work. Your boyfriend was worried because he wants to do the right thing and keep you .He just needs to work on his insecurity. ( that's a tad optimistic maybe, but at least he told her before it got too weird)

I agree. There are so many was you can mess up by text message, he likes you, and so he just wants to do this thing right. How are your face to face interactions? If you two get along well when you are together, the text messages may be pretty trivial. Don't worry about it too much OP! :)
