Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I got my car back from the shop. The engine has been rebuilt twice in the past 3 months. My check engine light just came on. FML
Today, my car was broken in for a second time in a month and a half, and for the second time it's now Inoperable. I only got it returned from repairs two days ago. FML
Today, I bought a car that literally caught fire seconds after I started the engine. The dealership then fobbed me off, saying I'd driven it off their forecourt (by about 3 yards), so it was entirely my problem, but they still expect my monthly payments to be on time. FML
Today, I waited 3 hours and paid $360 to have a routine tuneup done on my old car. As I pulled into my driveway, about to turn off the engine, one of my headlights blew. FML
Today, after work, I found my car in the middle of the empty parking lot with a huge crack in the windshield that wasn't there in the morning. Looks like I have to get the windshield replaced. Again. For the fourth time now. FML
Today, I found out that the man who sold me my car 6 months ago lied about it being "recently serviced" and "in excellent condition". It actually hasn't been serviced in years, and fixing all its problems is going to cost me $900 more than what I paid for the car. FML
Today, I picked my car up from the shop. After 5 minutes I noticed the oil and check engine light on. I pulled over, then the engine shut off completely. Turns out they forgot to put oil back in my car. I'll be needing a new engine. FML
Today, I drove my truck into the garage for a couple of minor repairs. It was returned on a flatbed with a blown engine. FML
Today, after having my car back for a few months after a $2,000 repair, I got in, only for it to not start. Don't worry. It's not the battery. It's the engine, which was fine yesterday. FML
Today, I took my car to dealer because of the loud knocking sound I heard while driving it. Twenty-four hours later, they told me it was fixed. Fifteen minutes after I drove away, the tire flew off my car while I was on the highway. My car is now totaled. FML

OP- if this is a manufacturer warranty then they aren't investigating *you*, they're investigating your dealership. There are strict standards for warranty work that a srrvice department needs to meet in order to get paid. When these operations are done correctly there should be a very low comeback rate. You've returned four times for the same very expensive fix. For a manufacturer that is highly suspicious. Honestly the service manager should have landed on this one with both feet before now. They may end up losing a lot over this if the manufacturer determines they are submitting fraudulent warranty claims. I'd talk to my warranty provider. If they are investigating the dealer you may be able to have your vehicle serviced at another dealership while the drama plays out. Here's hoping things get better soon.

Luckily, you won't need a car when you're in prison.

What are you doing to your poor car for that to keep happening? Sounds suspicious to me too.

Since it sounds like this is a fairly new car, they are most likely going to be subject to lemon laws, and have to replace the entire car. That's probably why they're trying to pretend it's fraud, nobody blows their own engine over and over again on purpose.

I'm sorry but I have to ask. What are you doing to that car?
