Today, I found out that the girl I've been dating online for over three months is actually a very bored 14-year-old boy. FML

What 53 and 103 said. You can meet people online, but just talking to someone online isn´t dating, no matter how filthy the words may be. And seriously, no meet-up for a month, much less a year? YDI.

How can you "date" someone for a whole year without ever meeting them? YDI for 'dating' online.

what THE ****?!?

and this is why we don't date people online. find someone online to go out with...maybe. but to have a relationship with someone you've never met is just stupid. get out of the house and go on a real date. this is just pathetic

Sounds like the crap I used to do to people. =P FYL, man. Not because it was a 14 year old boy, but because you actually dated a stranger on the internet.

i could type a huge paragraph about why this is so ******* stupid, but instead i'm just going to call you a dumbass.... seriously.

Aww that's so mean what the boy did but c'mon only another 14-year old boy would be dumb enough to fall for it. You can't "date" someone online. Did you never even speak to him in that year?! I wouldn't have called it dating then... If you're gonna "date" someone online again use Skype at least & talk to them...

You got so owned

I guess that's what you get. It's called socialization. Get out of the house and be with real people. Get real people.

I've done the LDR-with-person-I've-never-met thing before...and the first order of business was always "Okay, simultaneous phone and webcam now." (often evolved to "Say, while we're here...") And then I hit college and found women in the real world who were also worth my time. The key is figuring out where those hang out, because a bar usually ain't it.
