Today, as every day for the past three weeks, I had to hear my housemate complain about an order being delayed. The last couple of orders took two months to arrive, and she decided to order yet again from that company, so she checks daily and I have to hear about it. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, like every day for the past two years, my aged mother has sat complaining all day loudly about relatives who call too little or too much, about another package being a few days late, or her laptop and TV not working properly. All while I'm trying to quietly work from home. I'm about ready to jump off a bridge. FML
Today, the package I've waited for months for finally arrived. It turned out it wasn't for me, but for my sister, who bought the same thing only 2 weeks ago. When I called, the company told me they received my payment, but that there were no more of the item in stock. FML
Today, I get home and there's a package waiting for me. I ordered something online 2 weeks ago for a girl I like. She's not available anymore. No refunds. FML
Today, I ordered a pizza online to be delivered to my apartment. After an hour of waiting, I called the pizza place to ask what the problem was. Apparently, the people at the apartment below me took my already paid for pizza and ate it. FML
Today, I ordered food for delivery. I actually made it sound as if there were other people at home so I had an excuse for ordering so much. I don't think they bought it. FML
Today, at work, I was trying to repeat an order back to this guy, when his drunk girlfriend started to interrupt me. Whenever I would open my mouth, she would say "Blah blah blah." Literally. Eventually, I gave up. I got his order wrong, and got yelled at by my manager for not repeating his order. FML
Today, after days of my wife nagging me, I started working on the flat pack furniture she ordered. Every twenty minutes, she interrupted me to demand I stop and help her with something trivial and irrelevant. Now I remember why I postpone projects as long as possible. FML
Today, while at work, a customer refused to speak louder, despite me asking her to do it several times. As a result, I took her order incorrectly. The customer then finally decided to raise her voice, but only to yell at me about my poor listening skills. FML
Today, it's the twelfth day since I ordered the fittings (which are not sold in hardware stores) needed for one of our tenants' leaking kitchen sink. I received two emails; one that says the package will arrive today, and one that says never mind, the package will arrive in seven weeks. For the tenant, FML
Today, like every day, my coworker showed up thirty minutes late, sat down for thirty more checking email while I got the morning work done alone, listening to her bitch about how much she hates her job and wants to go home. My coworkers criticized me for being moody, and praised her for being the best. FML

When she complains, fly into a rage. "Those sons-of-bitches!! Motherfuckin' crooks! Take your money and stiff you on the goods!" Then smash something of hers. She'll then keep her complaints to herself from there on. You're welcome for the wisdom.

(1) “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.” Your roommate has no excuse. They should have known about the delay based on their prior experience. (2) As you can attest, venting does no good and nobody wants to hear it. You can at least learn from this what not to do. (3) Ever since the pandemic got going, there have been extra delays in getting things into stock. Furniture, unless it’s actually in stock at the store tends to be slow getting the order filled under normal conditions. They should have told your roommate the expected delivery date at purchase time.

I feel your roommate's pain. The postal service is terrible, and it's just going to get worse. It's already gotten worse - rates have been raised three times this year, yet the service continues to dwindle. They even said deliveries would be slower. It's quite possible it's not the company's fault, but the postal service. Sure it gets annoying hearing about it all the time, but so is dealing with the USPS. I've ordered things from Japan I've gotten in a week, yet things within the US, no customs whatsoever, take three weeks. Unacceptable.
