Accelerated obsolescence

Today, my cellphone charger suddenly stopped working. I had it for less than 6 months and I don't do anything crazier than unplug the phone when I want to go out and plug it back in. The phone and outlet work perfectly, the inputs are clean, and the charger had excellent ratings from over 2,000 people on Amazon. FML

What are you people doing to your chargers that they last months???? I've had 1 of my chargers for over 2 years.

Sorry that happened to you. No matter how much you pay for ANY charger, 6 months is a better-than-average lifespan for a charger cord in my experience, except for my big honkin' Macbook charger, by some miracel. I always have extra chargers on hand due to this; perhaps it is "Planned obsolescence". So wasteful. I've paid about 20 bucks for a charger once, but it STILL conks out in 6 months. Ugh and double fooey.

The fact that it made it six months is impressive, but yes, there needs to be a better model.
