He is right, though. Regardless of hurt feelings, it is not his job to fix your car. Now if your BF asked him for the help, it is a different story. Don't friend zone someone, start dating someone else Nd expect the friend to be at your back-and-call. This will cause rifts between you and your BF causing jealousy and distrust. So friend did the right thing to protect your relationship. I see it as him respecting your choices and relationship.
From the looks of it, it looks like you were using him as a confidante and an auto repair friend, he told you he liked you and you didn’t reciprocate, then you started dating someone else and STILL expect him to kiss your feet and do favors for you. Leave him alone so he can find someone who appreciates what they have in front of them instead of looking for greener grasses. Either get your amazing boyfriend to fix it or hire a mechanic who has no ties to you whatsoever. YDI
It's weird that you refer to a guy you friendzoned as "your best male friend". You didn't reciprocate his romantic feelings, and it sounds like he doesn't reciprocate your "best friend" feelings.
Friends help friends. Your guy friend isn't a friend. He wanted a sexual relationship, that's why he was nice to you. He attempted to manipulate you into giving him sex, and when he didn't get it he withdrew his "friendship". He's not a friend. He's not a nice guy. He's manipulative.
Why didn't you ask your boyfriend? Is he not a handy type? Is your guy friend a mechanic? More context is needed to give the best vote.
