Today, the boy I have crush on at school announced that his family were moving to Australia. My friend thought that it would be funny to spread a rumour that I was moving too, in order to follow him. Everyone has heard it, and unfortunately everyone believes it, including him. FML

Something similar happened to me... My first boyfriend moved to Australia for a year when we were together, and everyone was asking when I was moving! It's not a big deal. Also, for people saying he'll love it... My ex HATED it, completely. To each his own.

It can be. I had a rumour far less hurtful than this that resulted in everyone not trusting me and I had no friends (they all ditched me) all because it was a popular girl who spread the rumour.
