There has been talk on here of maybe he doesn't give her enough attention or do his share of chores. Doesn't matter. She's demanding control of his free-time and _allowing_ a grown-ass man to play video games in exchange for chores or MONEY. If he isn't helping around the house- FINE. Make him. If he doesn't give her enough time out of his day, fine. You don't get to ransom his free time though. The same bullshit as doing chores to earn sex; there is no earning here. You're a couple, you're partners. It isn't transactional and she doesn't get to just have that power over him.

If the OP's free time cuts into stuff he's supposed to do and frequently puts off helping out or or spending time with her the fact she's controlling his free time somewhat is completely fair. My gf doesn't care how long I play because it isn't cutting into school,work and other responsibilities. Since I don't play for hours on end when I picked up diablo 3 for xbox she did the all stuff round the house and wanted me to play as much as I wanted that week and gave me a break on doing stuff round the house.

I'm so glad I'm a gamer... My boyfriend and I frequently sit on the couch and I play my game and he plays his, or we sometimes find a multiplayer game to play. The only reason I'd ever limit his time playing games (or make a sex rewards chart) is if after we graduate college and move in together, he turns out to be a lazy ass and does nothing around the house. But I'd come up with something that doesn't also punish me, like both of those would do.

You sir, have married a controlling woman. Divorce is inevitable, just get it out of the way now. You wanna play games, just go do it. It's not her job to be your new mother, she's a wife, not a supervisor.

All need a hobby and gaming is a good one. As long as you don't ignore her for days and all the house work gets done (equally amonst you and your wife, with concideration to employment as well) there is no reason why you should accept those terms of her. She might not be a gamer but surely she must have other hobbies you can ban her from.
