That was a really shitty thing of her to do. Abuse is nothing to joke about. But in all fairness I do understand the father's response, even though you hadn't done anything wrong. She owes you a huge apology.
That was incredibly wrong and inappropriate of her. Domestic violence isn't something to joke about, it's serious. Especially when around parents, some of them can be protective, and she should know her parents well enough to know how they would react. I hope you got an apology from both of them, I would refuse to talk or come around them until they do. Might even just keep my distance for a while to think about things, this incident got you severely injured, I wouldn't trust my girlfriend very much at this point.
Can't blame the father, I would react the same. fyl
Well now you know to be careful what you do or say to your gf, I mean.... if you don't wanna die
I think your girlfriend should volunteer at a domestic violence shelter. It'll show her that her joke wasn't funny at all and that abuse isn't something to joke about or take lightly.
how could she not know thats how he would react? honestly, your lucky its just a broken nose. Straight up? she does need to be taught the seriousness of domestic abuse, and the consequences of false allegations.
"Domestic violence jokes are bad" Light hearted jokes like this are alright. Anywho, hopefully the father now understands that it was all a joke :)

Wow, that's in very poor taste of her. I bet she didn't think it was funny anymore when you were wiping the blood off your face. Does she not understand how sensitive and serious this topic is?
