What, do you recommend they fill out a questionnaire on the first date? That way he should know her birthday, favorite foods, allergies, the name of her first pet, shoe size, and her top 5 names for future children. You don't need to learn EVERYTHING about a person on the first date, I would much rather learn about their personality than their birthday and life-history. For all he knew it was still 10 months away. If her birthday was that soon, it was HER responsibility to bring it up in casual conversation, or even drop a not-so-subtle hint. That or don't get upset that he's not a psychic or a stalker (or worse, a psychic stalker). FYL OP, but be glad you got away from her while you had the chance!
