Today, my friends and I held an intervention for my fiancé. He's been talking and behaving like an "old-timey cowboy" non-stop for the last three months. Our wedding is in a month and he refuses to marry me if I can't accept his "life choices." FML

He is just testing you to see if you can really accept him for who he is...or maybe not...

Am I unaware of something that makes it not okay to be a cowboy? I mean if he's doin this, there's probably a reason. Let him work through it. If he still wants the cowboy life, either join him, or find yourself one of them "city clickers".

Isn't it "city Slickers"? Haha.

Hahaha yes. I don't know where that came from. Whoops, my bad.

What's wrong with being an old-fashioned cowboy? *rides away into the sunset*

You don't exactly portray the cowboy look if you ask me. :o

I'm a cowboy at heart, and I am wearing cowboy boots. You just cannot see them.

he's probably doing it as some kind of test

Aliens vs Cowboys At least he's sure of what he wants, it's time for u to get ur priorities straight

I don't see how alien vs cowboys fits in with your statement...

Isn't it better that you find out now he is mentally unstable? Instead of 4 years and 3 kids later?

Wanting to be a cowboy and live the CPU try life makes you mentally unstable? Since when?

no. suddenly becoming a cowboy makes you mentally unstable. it's like suddenly becoming a different person if he wasn't at least slightly country ish.

it does if he suddenly decides to do it when it wasn't part of his personal culture. if you're going to be a cowboy, be real about it.

It's called a dissociative identity disorder.

Threaten to get him a horse, stick him in the stirrups, push him so he's upside down, and send him on his way

Don't hate on old timey cowboys. It could be worse , he could have chosen to take on the lifestyle of a cowboy from broke back mountain . Then you'd really be ****** in the ass !

Who knows. It could be pretty hot. ;) Just kidding. Tell him he can do that all he wants AFTER the wedding. :) It's a stage in life. It'll pass!

Problems are harder to fix after the wedding. Dont assume you can change him, you can't. Make sure you know the person you marry

People are constantly changing. It's up to you whether you want to change with them, or leave. I think the cowboy voice is so much better than an asshole stage. So I don't think it's too much of a problem.

He's a child, u may want to postpone a year, see if he grows up a bit.
