Today, my ex-boyfriend asked me to homecoming, in front of the whole school, knowing I have social anxiety. I was forced to say yes to not seem like an asshole. Now I can't back out. FML

For everyone asking why we broke up, its because he was very manipulative and downright abusive behind closed doors. I can't back out because i'm afraid of what might happen if I do.

Don't buy a dress, if he asks to see it, stall. On the day of homecoming, you're suddenly too sick to leave your bed! Problem solved

Or she can just tell him to **** off for putting her in such a predicament.

I thought homecoming was about dance moves, not dick moves

What a rotten situation to be forced into. No wonder he's your ex-boyfriend.

Since when is homecoming in the late winter/ early spring?

My high had a Homecoming for every end of a sports season. Maybe OPs does too

I'm sorry this happened to you. Maybe ask if a friend could pass the message that you've changed your mind? The "I'm sick" excuse can always work too.

That's the biggest dick move you ever heard about?

How about don't give in to peer pressure? You shouldn't do something that you don't want to do because everyone can see. Your anxiety is only going to be worse because you are still doing something you don't want too.

That's terrible! I'm so sorry that happened to you. There's a reason why he's your ex, doesn't he understand that? Try to back out last minute to show him who's boss :)

That's such a dick move on his part. I'm sorry OP. Hopefully you figure a way out of it. He clearly didn't deserve you then and certainly not now

We don't really know the full story, but as it stands, FYL OP.

Just don't go. He'll look like the asshole for using your social anxiety against you.
