Today, my doctor told me I'm pregnant. Since we've been trying for several years, I called my husband to tell him the good news. Not long after, my doctor called to inform me there'd been a clerical mix-up and I'm not actually pregnant after all. FML

I am so sorry. Keep trying. My son was after 2 years of trying and 2 miscarriages. It can happen.

You should seriously consider adoption or surrogacy. You're making yourself miserable and denying yourself the joys of life by only focusing on the parts you can't have. You can make a tremendous difference in a child's life and have a lot of love to give.

That's terrible. But as many others have said, do keep trying. I have a cousin who has tried for almost seven years to get pregnant. She finally gave up a year ago and just today found out she is pregnant with twins. Here's hoping!

You should consider raising a pet instead. You could buy or adopt an animal like a cat or dog from the animal pound or rescue shelter or buy a puppy or a kitten from a private breeder. You could also obtain some goldfish from the store or keep a small pet like a rabbit or hamster

Okay, as someone who is childfree (don't have or want human childen) I find your comment heartless. While having two cats and a dog is completely fulfilling for a person like me, the same is not true for others. My heart goes out to the OP. I can't imagine trying unsuccessfully for a baby for years and someone just saying get a dog or cat or hamster. It's a child for me but for others it can't compare.
