Today, I was waiting in line while a lady paid for her shopping, when her credit card got declined. She started ranting and insulting everyone and kept insisting: "I'm not poor!" By the time the lady had finally stormed off, I had spittle on my face, and the cashier was almost in tears. FML

Same thing different taste
Today, I was shopping in an upscale store. As I was changing, I heard one of the snobby saleswomen say to mine "You shouldn't bother. She isn't going to buy anything." Determined to "show her", I purchased everything I'd tried on. It came to around $500. My credit card was declined. FML
Today, a customer yelled at me so furiously that she sprayed my face with spittle. I had to stand there, smiling and politely explaining that I needed to see a receipt before I could give her a refund. When she finally gave up and left, my boss bitched me out for "provoking the customer". FML
Go away, lady!
Today, at work, I had a customer accuse me of taking the giftcard I had issued her for her return, after spending 15 minutes trying to fix her screwed up transaction. She began to yell, and follow me around the store. Security had to intervene and I had to be locked in an office until she left. FML
Today, I was shopping at the grocery market and was next in line. Behind me was a woman who only had two items, so I nicely let her in front of me, as it looked like she was in a hurry. When she was all rung up, she decided to pay her $16.45 in loose change which needed to be counted out. FML
Pennies From Heaven
Today, I bought some shoes, but pissed off the lady working at the store by returning them 5 minutes later. She yelled at me and ripped my receipt in half, everyone in the store watched as she threw a handful of pennies at my face. FML
Today, while at the mall, a lady dropped her credit card while in line to buy something. I came over, picked it up and gave it to her just for her to shove it in my hand and scream, "She's stealing my wallet! My wallet!" The police came. FML
Staircase wit at the checkout
Today, while in line at the grocery store, I was going over the witty but caustic things I wish I'd said in an argument earlier. Turns out, I was saying them out loud. The cashier gave me a weird look and said, “Are you okay, ma'am?” FML
Today, I got yelled at by a customer for refusing to give a found credit card to a woman it didn't belong to. FML
Today, while standing in line at the grocery store, the elderly lady in front of me had forgotten to pay for her milk. In the spirit of the season, I paid for it and wished her happy holidays. She snatched the milk and gave me an ugly look. Then huffed at me before stomping off. FML
Today, I held the door open for a woman and her kids on my way out of the bank. She started accusing me of patronizing her, and when I just let go of the door in protest, she deliberately leaned in so it hit her in the face. I felt the glares from the entire bank as she pretended to cry. FML

One thing I've learned about retail: The customer is almost never right. Just rude.

I work in retail and people like that are the worst. At least you'll never have to see her again.

Poor Cashier. I know how it feels to have someone yell at you at work. However, it wasn't the customer, it was the crew who yelled at me, and I cracked under pressure.

Does anybody else get slightly concerned about people's inability to act in a respectful and adult like manner?

I question how many function in today's society with the amount of rudeness and stupidity around.

I feel bad for those in retail, I'm unsocial person so I'm not flirty or overly talking, but I am never rude to them. Now telemarketers I just hang up on. We all have to deal with them and they have to deal with us it just their job and will effect them longer then us...

My grandma used to work in telemarketing. Once I remember she was almost in tears on the phone after a man cussed her out as a joke. That's why I try to be polite to them whilst immediately hanging up.

if she kept insisting that she wasn't poor why didn't she just have the cash to pay?

not everyone has cash on them all the time, thus using debit or credit cards. I personally don't like credit cards, too easy to get in debt with.

I just use debit, safer than cash and its faster. cash is too easy to lose once its gone its gone.
