I bet the girlfriend feels really stupid now. I would call your sister (nephew's Mom) and mention her behavior. I feel sorry for your nephew. Girl is CraaaaaZY! In rational societies, one would also call up the girlfriend's parents and see if she is on any medications for - um- serious mental issues. She may need to be evaluated or have her pharmaceutical dosage adjusted (only her doctor knows for sure). Her behavior is NOT Noooormal! I'm not saying that you should BUTT IN too badly, but her parents deserve to know her behavior is less than completely rational. If she ends up doing this again and slapping a stranger who presses charges with the police, all eyes will be on you and "Why didn't YOU do ANYTHING!"
