Today I was guilt tripped and told what a terrible wife I am for not bailing my husband out of jail so he can be home for Christmas. The same husband that flew into a drunken rage and threw me down the stairs last week. Fml

I hate to be that commenter but I hope he’ll soon be your ex-husband. Look after yourself OP

WTF is wrong with people? You stick up for yourself, OP. If it is so important to them, they can bail him out just as well, and let the drunk, useless POS celebrate Christmas with them. You're absolutely doing the right thing and everyone who tries to guilt trip you over this needs to get lost.

Good for you for standing up for yourself. He should absolutely stay in jail. You need to be safe. You are really really important. There are organisations that can support you even if you don't feel ready to leave or anything but just want to have a chat and talk to someone about this.

Let the ****** rot. He's clearly unstable, and he could have killed you. If whoever is guilt tripping you doesn't see that, you should cut contact with them. Your health and happiness is paramount to assholes like that.
