Today, I walked into a restaurant with my parents to celebrate my Mom's birthday. They immediately got a kid's menu and crayons out for me. I'm 15. FML

Today, I told my 15 year-old son that I was taking my wife to a fancy restaurant for her birthday, so he would be on his own tonight. Most teenagers would play video games, watch porn, and sneak a beer, which I would be okay with. He started crying and asked why he was "left out", then clung to my wife's leg. FML

Today, I was excited to go to a Japanese restaurant for my birthday. When the chef started doing tricks however, my spoiled brat of a sister started screaming and crying in terror. My parents insisted we leave and go to McDonald's because she was upset. She's 11. FML

Today, I went out to dinner with my boyfriend and his mom. The hostess asked if I needed "the kid's menu," remarked how I look "so grown up for your age," and asked what grade I was in. I said I'm in university. She laughed as if it was the best joke ever told. I'm 22. FML

Here's a little test: set aside the menu and the crayons and converse with them. If they redirect you to the crayons, then it's officially an FYL. If not, it's just a sense of humor. Just laugh with them.

When I'm out with MY parents and siblings, and I'm asked if I want a kiddy menu (I'm 15, and the youngest) I say no but my 18 yr old brother, my 20 yr old sister, and my other 23 yr old sister always ASK for the kiddy menu. It's called letting your inner-child out. It's kinda sad how well my family let's their inner-child out. We're horrible influences if you don't want to learn any Veggie Tales songs. We know several of those by heart. I'm proud to say that.
