Today, I tried to take a shower and was thrown out by my mother. Apparently I'm not allowed to shower on my monthly because she believes the hot water will stimulate blood flow and I'll pass out from blood loss. I can't convince her otherwise and I can't survive off wet wipe showers for a week. FML

Go to your friend/relatives house and say your shower broke. Shower there then come home. Worked for me (with different circumstances).

This is a natural bodily function for women, unless something is seriously wrong, your body won't bleed enough to make yourself pass out. For the average woman, they only produce about a cup of blood during their period, and temperature doesn't effect this. Sorry OP, but your mom is an idiot. Makes me wonder if she's been doing this her entire life too, kind of gross. Take her to a doctor, get them to explain how unreasonable she's being.

That's not true. Water doesn't stop the flow. But heat helps cramping and showering helps with possible odors. Your mom sounds like she's heard old wives tales and believed them or else she's not quite playing with a full deck.

... That isn't really how biology works. What far more likely is that the blood exiting your uterus and ****** is being watered down by the body of water you are in to the point that it is less or even non-visible. It's still coming out. Because gravity doesn't stop when you enter a body of water, and that's what causes the blood and lining to exit the body.
