Today, I missed my bus. I had to ride my bike 2 miles. Once I left, some jerk nearly hit me. I flipped him off and shouted obsceneties. It was my dad, offering me a ride. He left. FML

2 miles is nothing, it takes about 15 minutes. I have to ride 7 each day to get to school. #58: 2 miles in Europe is indeed the same as in America, but not all people in Europe have a schoolbus picking them up each morning.

Not all people in America have a school bus pick them up either, and a lot of people in Europe get picked up by school bus too... And 15 minutes is still a lot if you're already late.

Pretty sure most people would react if a car almost hit them on their bike. Most people react pretty badly when a car almost hits their car and you're a lot more protected in your car than you are on a bike. I bike pretty much everywhere and I've almost been hit, or had my bike clipped by cars a few times. It's pretty scary, even if it's just a close call. I don't think he over reacted.
