Today I graduated medical school, and promptly realized I hate all things about medicine but have too much debt to have any other choice but to make this my career. FML

It takes 4 years for undergrad work with the focus on biology and pre med, 4 years of medical school, and then an internship, which can last up to a year. Within those 9 years, why did you not figure out you hate all things medicine?

It's called burnout. OP's been exposed to it too much and is now sick of it. It happens more often than people think.

Same here. Graduated with a degree in Nursing, spent five years in a trauma bay and quit. Felt really bad for years thinking I wasted my degree but now I'm in a corporate medical field and love it.
