Rubbernecking is what a lot of EMT's and cops call it. People get distracted trying to see what happened instead of paying attention to the accident they're about to cause. Still, hope you are okay.

I hope your license got suspended. If you can't pay attention to the road and you let something like a car accident distract you, you shouldn't be driving.

Unfortunately this is very common, we paramedics see it every day on the job. Apparently it's in the human nature to be nosey. Hope you weren't injured, lesson learned.
