Did you fill out the fafsa?
Could be worse, you could be a 22 year old guy in a 3rd world country that has an associates from one institution, and need to go get a bachelor's from another. This wouldn't be so bad if he isn't broke, need to have constant medication since his current job screwed him over by working crazy amount of overtime for 2 months and to also find out that the next institution you need to go requires you to get your associates from them because the credits won't transfer over and to top it all off, need to come up with 24,000 to go back to school and get the bachelor's degree. Which wont be accepted international anyway. and his parents are likely to lose their jobs because of the corrupt government. look on the bright side. you're not in a 3rd world country were they take advantage of you. and this person who I'm speaking off is me sadly...

If it's your first degree a pell grant should be available. Otherwise since you are working a full time job , granted one you seem to dislike, then you should be able to responsibly save a portion of your income each month to go towards your goal of improving your life. Its called you do what you have to do in order to get where you want to get. As someone who took out loans as a last resort while working myself through college with part time jobs I don't really understand why you are so eager to take out fin aid loans when you have the means to save for your education and just delay it a little while. Also, in case this is your first rodeo with college ... Community colleges or tech colleges offer courses that usually transfer to 4yr universities at sometimes a 1/4 of the cost compared to that Univ. Check with the Univ you want to get your main degeree from to make sure and them work with an advisor at the comm college telling them exactly what your goals are. Just keep your goals OP. Save and take a comm college course one at a time if you have to just don't give up on your dream!
Same thing is happening to me currently. Really sucks, OP.
