Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML

so you spent your ten computer minutes to write an fml? that's kind of fml worthy in itself.....

I had a similar situation when I was younger, I don't know how far your parents would go (aka hopefully not call the cops) but i would just walk out and take the car and come back later.... However, what worked best was after trying to talk to them about it civilly (and they're continuing to ignore me), I packed my bags and told them I was leaving the house and staying with friends. I told them that I would respect them and they would know where i was staying and I would keep them updated but could no longer be in a house where I wasn't being heard or treated fairly.... I ended up out of the house for a week but then they picked me up for our first family therapy session, which (with the right person) worked really well... I suggest sitting them down for a good talk and use my situation as a last resort (provided you have somewhere safe to go) [http://anonymousdiaryproject.blogspot.com]

economy sucks right now. lots of adults are taking our mcdonalds and other teen jobs. maybe he can't support himself because of this. this fml scares me, I'm 15 and Im in debt with my parents and I so badly need money so that when I do turn 18 I can leave becase if I stay I know this will happen to me

so u spend your 10 minutes writing this?do u have like friends?

Honestly, sounds like my boyfriend. He's 18. Except he's never had a car provided by the family, so he could borrow it to get a job. No car+no job=no moving out and nowhere to go. He's subject to his mother's crazy rules, quite like this FML. My heart goes out to you, dear. As for all of you who are like, "DUDE YOU'RE 18 THEY CAN'T ******* DO THAT", YES. THEY CAN. If you are in their house and under their rules and have no means to leave and support yourself, well, you're pretty much screwed unless you want them to kick you out and make life harder. It sucks, but it's true.

You would be SURPRISED at how many parents are that screwed up in the head.

it was like that for me up until i was 16.my best advice is to get a solid job and save up.hopefully you have one already.

Listen, this really sucks, but you're going to have to live with it, unless you move out and support yourself. So, it's really your choice...
