Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML

yoo. i'm 18 too and my parents kicked me out of the house for one week because i slept over my friends house, and it's summer vacation. AND i'm going into my sophomore year of college. let me just tell you. getting kicked out was pretty fxcking awesome, cause i didnt have to worry about anything. do it.

I'm willing to bet money that your parents pay for your cellphone, car, the internet at your house, pretty much everything they said you can't use. So if they decide to take those things away good for them, go get a job and pay for your own things so they can't take them away from you.

Thank you....this is quite possibly the only intelligent post on this entire ******* thread. Every single young teenage kid here needs to shut the **** up with their oh move out you're an adult bullshit. If you are gonna move out, you had better be supporting your own ass, not relying on mommy and daddy to pay for crap. So until you're financially independent from your parents, they can still tell you what to do.

Exactly. I am in complete agreement. Some posters think it's easy and simple as that to just bam, move out. I am 19, and I moved out when I was 18. I went through an extensive learning experience, realizing that with moving out comes real responsibility. OP, take on this for size. Health care & insurance, the bills for doctor visits and medicines if you get sick. Immunizations required for college--who's going to pay for that? Enough food to last each month. The cell phone bill. The rent. Bills for water, electricity, A/C, internet, and in some cases, car payments. There's the gas too for the car if you have one--car insurance as well. If you don't have a car, you need to get around by the bus or a bicycle. Depending on who you rent a place from, you may have to pay extra for parking and keeping pets there. On top of that, there's college -- tuition, fees, registration, books and others that you have to make payments for. Oh, and there's also the time where you want to go out and hang with your friends -- clubbing, going out to eat, bowling, partying, and so on... I am on my own. My parents don't support me at all, and have not since I moved out (August '08). At first I thought I was going to be totally fine without them. I was wrong. My first month away from home, I was dead broke and I could not afford to buy food. I lasted on only bread and water. Some days, consecutively, I did not have any food. I had to work and sometimes got very stressed about paying the bills on time, financially. Now, THAT is when it really started to sink that this is the real world and I started wishing that I had my mother's home-cooked meals (for free). I really missed home after that. So time to count your blessings, OP...

Pretty sure this was written by a parent, posing as his child.

don't worry. i'm 17 and my curfew depends on who i'm with, what time i leave, and what we'll be doing. the latest i've ever gotten to stay out without my parents there was 10:30. i was eating dinner at my best friend's house. the last date i went on with my boyfriend before he left for basic training [army] my mom wanted me back at 7. luckily the movie i wanted to see started then, so she let me go. yeah....i feel your pain.

Dayyuummmm.... I feel bad for you I don't even have a curfew.... Good luck with that...

I only have 10 mins a day for the last 2 years... Not even for homework!!!!
